By that logic, dignitas isent a foreign team since they have select on it. Violet is living in texas, so his training oppotunities are the same as the foreigners. Not to mention Kas, Beastyqt and happy are all really strong in the european scene.

By that logic TL is also a Korean team, with twice as many Koreans as Empire. :p
I'd just say TL and Empire are both not complete foreign teams. And you cant really say Dignitas isnt a foreign team, because Select has no Code S background, while Violet has. And he is from Korea and from a korean team.

Select does have a Code A background. But let's not wade into this murky area of what constitutes a "foreigner" and "Korean".
On a completely different note, Empire can definitely win here. Beastyqt, Violet and Kas have all shown that they can take down Korean players. They beat col-MVP very convincingly, and forced Prime to an ace match. I definitely think they have the potential to beat NSHoseo, but they need to watch out for players like Jjakji and San.
I actually see Empire take this. NSHS' results have not been very promising lately, especially in team leagues. Of course Empire is lacking a very top tier player, but jjakji's impact may be limited due to cross server play, and any other player of the NSHS roster looks very beatable to me. If Empire catch a good day and play their best, they should take this!

Meh.. it's soo long. Hatch have 1500 hp, transfusion is 125 hp. And the natural regen of building is slow as hell.

Not really, I reckon. Marine/tank makes queens (and the few hps they could transfuse) evaporate, while Aristeo was already starved for army.
Antiga Shipyard in TvT really centers around the middle. Assuming both players are going for bio the player that gets the center has an easier to secure fourth base and you can easily set up the middle (unsieged) to control movement, you can react and presiege whereever your opponent wants to go.
Its even more frustrating when one guy meching gets the middle.

Having the Zerg pick the map and having the Terran pick the map on the other hand is very important. Violet is an excellent player and the chance of losing a ZvZ compared to a TvZ if both are evenly matched is a lot higher. Whenever you send out the same race you kind of give away the map-pick advantage assuming the fact that you have other players you can field that are equally good.
I'd say Happy OR Kas -> Shattered Temple or Terminus.

Yeah, good point. And iirc TvZ is Happy's best MU, though he's been sent out against T and P a lot lately, I remember him taking out PuMa impressed me quite a bit
edit: I think losing that army is game, no way he can remax and let Seal just get ups and hive tech, especially without even taking the hatch out
I don't really like this midgame poke from Beasty. If the Zerg decides to build up a few units he can easily overwhelm the Terran force. Obviously that means he won't build as much drones, BUT! even if you can get ahead in economy, you will lose your chance to push later in the game, you basically lose time in which Zerg can do whatever he wants.
Other than that, Beasty is playing well, yet I like Seals position. The only thing he needs to keep an eye on is having a transition. Okay right as I write it -> infestor energy upgrade.
I'd really pick Terminus over Shakuras, but I guess both picks are Terran favored. Looking forward to it. If Kas wins, NSHS is probably going with Tassadar or San. I can't imagine they want to send out Jjaki that early, if at all.

I'm thinking San. They send him out to snipe marineking. I'm thinking he's definitely their main terran sniper
Casters, Kas was tempting the drone into his base while his barracks was finishing because terrans like to bait the drone scout up the ramp then lock it out for an ez kill (by marine) and deny the scout, but Seal's drone arrived too soon. This is deceptive because if there is already a wall, A.I. causes the drone to wander to other corners below the ramp.

I don't think he's actually been sent out in a team league to ever snipe a P or Z, his PvT is so solid, it's great to have a player like that especially against Empire. Although I think both Kas and Happy have a shot at taking him.
I really like what Kas did with getting that greedy early third command center, yet I dislike his choice of actually muling constantly. Yes, your income will skyrocket but you can reach maximum saturation on 2 base quiet easily and muling from three orbitals will make you mine out really fast.
On 2 base with 3 orbitals I actually quiet like the idea of calling down extra supply, because first of all its 100 minerals that are actually not on the map and its instant. If you don't feel comfortable taking your actual third base, that is the way to go at least to me.
Kas actually already upgrading 2-2 against Seals 1-0 as soon as Kas doesn't fuck up and sets up a good position in the middle and secure a fourth base behind it, I don't see him losing the game.
Lmao Doa going on and on about Bob Ross is cracking me up. This team league is really starting to make me a Doa fan, and CatsPJs is pretty good too(what a great voice for casting!).
Kas is beasting it up, as always. I don't think that you can quite say that he's underrated at this point, but I definitely don't think he gets as much credit as he should. He is an incredible player.
Why did he wait for the mutas...wow that might have cost him the game. On the minimap you could see the slings come and just sit there, then the mutas...he could have taken that >.>

Idk, I think getting enough supply depots up to drop em on takes a while, you generally don't want to drop on a depot making a wall, and 3 cc at 4min is a fair amount of supply in itself. I think Kas would have benefitted from taking early 3/4 geysers, as he had to delay beginning tank/starport production while floating some minerals. If you're gonna MULE all out, it'd seem like additional gas is necessary. When MKP plays like this he generally flats 200-300 gas after getting his 3rd refinery as soon as he takes his nat but spends it all by 8/9minutes.

That's actually a really good idea. I think in some cases, we need to move away from the "embarrassing" supply drop stigma. Although it's still embarrassing 95% of the time.
I'm not really sure what kept Kas in his base for that long. He could have taking a forward position a long time ago. Now there are broodlords morphing and infestors are out since Kas didn't pressure at all. Obviously Terran on 4 base, taking a 5th can take a very good defensive position, YET if Seal is patient with broodlord/infestor/corrupter it really is Seal's game to lose.
Uncharacteristic, he's floating 2k/2k while JUST getting more starports and a ghost academy, I always feel like Kas overbuilds production at the right time, playing kinda sloppy this game

Thats the reason I would have picked Terminus or even Shattered over Shakuras. Yes Shakuras is a good map for Terran in mid to early-late, yet once Zergs reach such an army its very hard to beat them as you cannot use the immobility of it. On Terminus you can kind of do what Supernova did against sLivko, run around it or the way Polt does handle it - with huge drops.
On Shakuras you can drop, but the main attack path is one side and the chance of actually dodging the main army or bypassing it are slim.
holy moly as doa said we are gonna see a very though time for terrans what could kas do there? infestor broodlord corruptor so strong maybe he should have been sticking with ghost and just ignore the patch or at least get some ghost earlier and mix it up

They hit'ed way before the BL corruptor army get to this point tho. The only game i saw where a terran beat a legit BLs corruptor army is still Polt vs Stephano on Antigua but.. comon.. almost noone can pull that off :S
I guess there's something to explore with geting ravens with the vikings ( like when you throw down 3 more starport, put techlab on 2 of them ) and use PPD and after that HSM. That's a lot of theory tho..

Pffft. TvZ lategame is barely explored. Terran used to be able to mass Ghosts and snipe the shit out of all Zerg T3, now maybe they'll have to incorporate Ravens more intelligently or something. Give it time.
On March 02 2012 11:19 Shellshock1122 wrote: How is seal's zvz? I cant recall any examples in gstl and I've never watched his stream.
I have never seen him being used purpousefully against zerg opponents. From what I recall from his match vs BboongBboong, his ZvZ is quite "meh": not heinous but not necessarily good.
On March 02 2012 11:20 Jarree wrote: Yeah i really would have liked to see mass ghost still, just to see if it does anything. I heard some snipes.. but nothing died? :D
He used a handful on corruptors. I would have liked him to try sniping infestors; there were not that many at a point, and now snipe is extremely good against infestors (2 down from 3).

But the reason I brought up those games were because both players went mech and ROLLED a BL/Corrupter army in 30+ and 40+minute games, you just need to scout and adjust your composition to fit their tech. Foreigner Terrans play too passive in general whereas Polt was in Stephano's face from the 6minute mark in nearly all of his games.
On March 02 2012 11:21 RUS RO DAH!!! wrote: Well Brood/infestor/corruptor is pretty unstoppable. It's terran's fault for bringing it to late game, should have know he'd have no chance.
Well actually thats not completely true, but as I explained first of all I don't know why Kas took such a defensive position when he was clearly ahead in upgrades and could have pushed the issue, making Seal spend gas on actually banelings and other stuff to defend instead of heavily teching... AND letting Zerg get such an army on Shakuras where you cannot bypass it NOR use the immobility of it against it was a big mistake.
I don't want to say it was weak by Kas as he's an excellent player, but for me as observer that was his mistake but you always have to understand that what he saw was completely different from what we could actually see. His defensive position would be very good against a brutal mass ling baneling muta style, as it becomes completely inefficient against a maxed Terran.

it was 2-0 for thors
Yeah, barely upgraded. You need armor to tank broodling damage or else they die that fast without doing damage, and +damage scales SOOO much with attack upgrades because of the javelin missle splash. It was really inefficient that he got 30 supply in thors without getting sufficient upgrades.

I think sending out your best player against their potentially best player giving your player the edge of picking the map which can be the very Terran favored Terminus or Shattered still would be close to a secured win and Jjaki is not just insanely good vs Zerg, but insanely good all around while a PvZ specialist might not be able to pick apart Happy.

If Violet loses they have to send Happy because even if Welmu / hoBot had builds prepared to snipe Jjakji they would not be good enough of allround players to beat the next player. I still think Jjajki will finish Empire off.

Happy's TvT is very good even though the statistics say its a lot worse than his other two match ups, yet I don't believe its enough to take down Jjakji. You can never say 'he won't win' in a best of 1, but to me its unlikely.

cant go ultras when youre behind so he was going to go BL eventually
And ultras suck on Shattered Temple
Not only that: if you try to surprise a terran playing marine/tank with a quick hive, from behind, and pick ultras, he will just shrug and think "oh okay, I'll take that".

Stephano's pretty happy about it i guess. For someone who want to win the most he can from SC2 before doing something else, he definitly know which events/tournaments to participate. x)

He was voted into the showmatch with WhiteRa by fans (I didn't vote for him).

ur insane naruto did u get replays spoilered?°^^ but jea as far as happy likes to play super lategame calm before the storm is clearly his best map of choice
Happy manages to bring every game he's been playing recently to lategame lol, good TvT but I think Jjakji has an insurmountable advantage. Really impressive run by Empire and I'm glad that they're entering more high profile team leagues!
Happy was pretty impressive, especially since he was contained so early and still was able to push back Jjakji multiple times. Jjakji was really good about denying bases though and eventually just starved him out, even though Happy had much better control.
