Jet lag, 2
Oz and MVP, 2 if theres one thing you can state, its that jetlag had no influence. or would you still blame it on jetlag if only 1 person who was on the plane lost? ... looking forward to your posts when DRG loses on saturday... "he only lost because of jetlag!"
Different individuals take a different amount of time to adjust to jetlag.
Plus, maybe someone sat next to a baby on the plane and couldn't sleep at all.

The fact that GOMPvP is incoming will make the matchup evolve as much in the next 3 months than he has in the past year and half imo. (slight exaggeration but I think it'll evolve)
This is actually an interesting observation. TvT feels so much more developed than the other mirror match ups because there have been so many of these played, while Z and P are comparatively under-represented in the GSL so we don't get to see ZvZ or PvP as much. Maybe if we have more of them the matchups will finally improve.

Got a little worried for MVP there for a second.
Thought he might get Sniped...

Well since Snipe got nerfed, Mvp survives.

leenock leenock how your zvp need to improve.

Thank god Mvp lost the first game. Whenever IM players win the first set, their chances of winning the next 2 drastically lower. T_T

I only saw the final results and not the games.. Does Seed look like a rising star or just Leenock has a bad ZvP?

I'd say both, as in I saw a little bit of SlayerS Brown in him, so perceive that how you will.

Hope StC gets through Up/Downs though.

At Providence it looked like he had a sick ZvP, but I think many good protoss players are on the uprising now. Seed being one of them.

Leenock's ZvP is by far his worst matchup. Against Korean Protosses in the GSL/GSTL, he won a Bo1 against Alicia in September, a Bo1 against anypro in January 2011 and two Bo3s against GuineaPig and LegalMind in the open seasons. He also beat Naniwa in a Bo1 and HuK in a Bo3. He's lost every other GSL ZvP (Finale, MC x2, Inca, Tassadar, Puzzle, Sage, Alicia, Creator, Genius). His ZvP Elo is #39, lower than IdrA, Moon and Cella, compared to his ZvZ Elo of #8 and ZvT of #2. He's still the #2 Zerg by Elo, ahead of NesTea, which gives you some idea how skewed his matchup capabilities are.
(I know this is just quoting statistics, not a qualitative assessment of his play, but when the numbers are this lopsided it can't be too far off the mark)
It's disappointing that he's held back by his ZvP so much. He obviously has one of the best ZvTs in the world, and his ZvZ is no slouch either, but unfortunately he's only been able to get far in the GSL by dodging Protosses.

How weird was it to see 3 gate expo openers? Feels like I got transported back in time.

Seed did his homework. Leenock is known for doing pressure builds versus Protoss fast expands, and 3gate expand is always best versus early roach/ling/hydra pressure. Leenock also went more defensive than he should have because he expected some one base all-in or timing seeing no FFE.
I really like watching players who are prepared not just for their race matchup, but study their opponent and prepare builds for them specifically. Might end up with lopsided games, but I enjoy the strategic part of it. That's why I like month-long tournaments as opposed to weekenders.

Seed obviously doesn't subscribe to Naniwa's "FFE or die trying" philosophy.
