The time has come for our next Losers Round 2 match of the IGN Pro League Team Arena Challenge 2!
When: Friday, Feb 24 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Friday, Feb 24 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
Format
This double-elimination tournament features 16 teams from around the world and is an All-Kill team format. This match is being played for Losers Round 2. The first team to defeat everyone on the opposing team's roster (5 wins, or a best of 9), will move on in the Losers Bracket, while the losing team will be eliminated from the tournament entirely. Keep in mind that this has a $20,000 prize pool, and only six teams will make it to the money!

Nah, Empire beat them handily in the Alienware Showmatch, they won 3-1 in NASTL, I think Empire has a bit of an edge at the moment!

Empire have had great form lately, especially Happy, but I still have a feelin mouz will take it. I think the 1.43 ghost nerf will affect Empire more.

Yup, it's a team league with mostly Eastern European and German-based teams like RoX.KIS, imba.FXO, Empire, ESC or AI. BLAST is in there, too, so it's actually a pretty stacked lineup.

Actually, the best matchup of every single player on mouz - I didn't look up Heromarine cause he won't play anyway - is vs Terran, except for Thorzain, but the difference between his vT and his vP is 0.07% so it's negligible.
As you may have noticed Empire has a ton of great Terrans, so that should be kinda good for Mouz. :D But Empire is still going to win, I'd bet on it.
@ Zowon: Of course not, IPL is always broadcast from replays, makes sense if you look at the event saturation, it's hard to find times to play live.

Why are IPL Twitch streams never featured by Twitch? I also can never find IPL Twitch streams with the iPhone app. NASL shows up.

I can vouch that this is my situation too, 720p+ flashes the stream on and off and audio is incosistent. 720p is really purple with almost constant audio. 480p is fine.

Lately I have been having serious issues with Twitch.tv... Every single resolution lags and skips horribly. (No, it is not a problem with my connection, I could watch 4xHD streams during IPL. >_>' )

They restarted the stream and from unwatchable on 240p now it's perfectly fine on 720
so I don't think it's needed

Okay so, both players fast expanded. Some lings and hellions just died; aristeo sending a group of lings to Thorzain's nat. They kill several SCVs and chase the rest all the way to the gold. 9 workers killed total for aristeo, but he's lost a lot of lings.

Aristeo losing another handful of lings in Thorzain's nat; thorzain starting siege and tanks and double ebay. Aristeo with double evo chambers upgrading attack and armor while he's getting lair, looks like ling/infestor probably. Also both players breaking the rocks to their thirds.

Some more small skirmishes between lings and hellions in the middle of the map and Thorzain lands his third at top left. Aristeo also taking his third and setting up to take his gold.

My stream goes down for a moment and then when it comes back up Thorzain has no SCVs in his third(looked like they all ran to the nat). Aristeo moving through the middle of the map with a bunch of burrowed infestors. 2 in Thorzain's nat, 1 in his main! Fungals kill a bunch of SCVs in thorzain's nat!

Aristeo takes his fifth and attempts to nydus into thorzain's main, but the scvs mobilize and kill it. Thorzain starting to get vikings but I don't think aristeo even has a spire

Thorzain building 3 CCs and starting to get 2 nukes; Thorzain kills some more nydus worms. Aristeo manages to sneak one near the rocks at thorzain's third and a bunch of ling/ultra infestor kill some infrastructure and some SCVs and sneak back to his nyuds but thorzain drops some marines at aristeo's fifth

Aristeo taking his sixth; Thorzain is going to need to take the two top bases soonish or he will starve. Another nydus goes up at 12 and some units get through, but it gets finished off by landed vikings. Corruptors out for Aristeo and his units at 12 get finished off and some random ultras go down in the midfield

Aristeo does a double drop in Aristeo's sixth, killing it right before his units all get fungaled and died. A TON of broodlords building for Aristeo; Thorzain getting a third nuke. Something like 20 broodlords starting to move through the middle of the map. TRIPLE NUKE IN ARISTEO'S MAIN! He manages to kill 2 of the ghosts before the nukes can land though and they don't really do anything.

Well Aristeo's 1 corruptor can't defend his 20 broods from the 5 or so vikings. Mass snipes on hte broods but the broods kill ghosts and thorzain's army is able to hold off the huge broodlord/infestor/ultralisk army. Thorzain starting to set up in the watchtower and some lings clear out all the SCVs in thorzain's fifth.

Something like 12 ultras and 4 infestors bulldoze the first line of tanks in the center and then back off. Thorzain is just mined out outside of his fifth and sixth. Another ultra attack in the center is poorly controlled and backs off after killing a thor. NUKES IN THORZAIN'S FIFTH AND SIXTH. Teh one in the fifth killed before it lands, ghost in sixth killed right after nuke lands and kills 12ish drones. nydus going up in thorzain's sixth

Both players on 112 supply and thorzain pushes down to aristeo's fifth with some marine tank. it goes down and some marines head to the sixth as aristeo moves some units up to the top but they get cleared out. I think Thorzain was behind for most of the game but now Aristeo is basically dead

Aristeo down to 90 supply against Thorzain's 150 with only 15 drones which are long-range mining from his fifth. Aristeo is so broke he can't even build another hatch

Some more ITs kill some more SCVs but Thorzain has 3000 minerals floating and 150 supply against aristeo's 20 minerals and 75 supply

ravens get fungaled and die but seeker missile some stuff. Thorzain could probably 1a into aristeo at this point. Aristeo puts up another nydus at 12 and movevs all the rest of his army into 12 and forces it to lift, but his army gets cleaned up and then Aristeo finally ggs out.

Thorzain really just needs to attack aristeo's main and finish the game already...

Even with Thorzain having a clear advantage, shows that seekers + raven still aren't all that great. I think the ravens need a movement speed buff and a slight energy cost reduction for the missles. Ravens have to sit on their ass forever just to throw 1 missle each, and that's with the upgrade to increase their starting energy amount. But T-zain spoons Aristeo well.

I actually thought Aristeo had a lead for a long time as he took his half of the map while repeatedly harassing Thorzain and denying his fifth and sixth, but eventually Thorzain managed to take those bases and wear Aristeo down.

Already a great series, I'm glad I stayed up for this! I'm still very confident in Empire, if Aristeo already does so well against Mouz, I can't imagine how good the rest of the team will play.
There were no larvae in the unit tab as far as I remember, so most likely pre-patch and pre-nerf.

I think people need to stop with this whole ravens are the future thing. Terrans are not going to rely on one of the highest costing tech paths in the game for a 4 range, 125 energy, slow nuke that can easily be dodged by moving the unit being targeted.

Exactly this, Seeker is great only of the victim's units aren't micro'ed and are all bunched up in a big clump making it ideal as the mini nuke people want it to be. There's too many negatives for the positive in the situation of acquiring seekers. Gotta tech really high, may want to get a bunch of upgrades from Starport's Tech Labs, and Ebay to make the most out of it. Then having enough energy off a Raven to finally cast it.

And to be honest does not do alot of damage to units with more then 50 HP . If you can hit a clump of Banelings its great for example but every unit that is well kinda bigger ( Roaches , Stalker big is enough ) and Seeker sucks hard. Since the Splash gets reduced very very fast it does at best 50 damage to 1-2 units around a bigger unit.

Nice job by Kas; he did get a little lucky to hit while storm was upgrading, but he was definitely ahead even before that last battle.

That was actually a pretty shit game.
Just a bunch of passive teching and then one player getting caught in an engagement right before his last set of tech kicked in.

Really popular a couple months ago, but the metagame moved to gasless FE/back to 2 raxing. Pretty simple though, 13 gas tech lab 3 rauder concussive shell, then swap and make a rax while you build 2 more, tech up to fac and start getting ups

No, but he did a 1 rax marauder FE into 2 rax and fast factory. I really liked the medivac timing, especially with +1. I think he could have done some good damage early on if he would have attacked.

Yeah, thats the timing >.> your cs and +1 finish by the time your double medivacs pop. SeleCT pioneered the build early last year, bunch of people have variations of it, Kas uses it on his stream often, either with double rax added and slightly later medivacs or just 2 and everything finishing at 9:30

Empire just got really unlucky meeting Prime in the first round and narrowly losing 4-5, they could have beaten most of the other teams.
And the next match is something I'm really looking forward to. Seeing those guys play Seal, Sage, Jjakji, San, Sculp, Sting or even Tassadar () is the best matchup I could imagine. We see not nearly enough NSHoSeo in any league.
