I cant believe morrow after losing so much drones and the hatch STILL goes for double evo, spire and banespeed at the same time... Im not saying he stood a chance anyways but to win from there he NEEDS to crush a push and thats done with making alot of units not tech. If he crushes a push, manages to drone and then tech properly he atleast stands a chance.. with 550 gas and 700minerals into tech he will have no chance at all to defend..

poor decisionmaking imo.

I was really suprised by the double evo's, spire and banespeed is kinda required to crush the pushes but evo's just seemed really wasted, maybe he thought he wouldnt get pushed again but that would be even weirder since everything pointed towards more pushes.

I definatly think its possible for him to crush the next push with pure roach ling baneling with speed.. im not saying it is in any way a good way to approach the game in general but he has to have known there is no way at all that he was going to get a decent muta count up before the next push. 4 mutas doesnt help at all really in that engagement. 10-12 roaches and more ling/bane might have if he prepared a flank. But sure, even if he holds a push he is way behind due to the tech disadvantage but atleast he lives.

I guess he gambled that the push wouldnt come as you said, but that would be like playing russian roulette with 6bullets.. :S

Really?

Morrow played awful.

Morrow getting schooled by a 14 year old who used to all-in all the time really cut some nerves

More seriously, foreigners might suffer from stage fright but I thought Morrow would be better than that, having his share of tournaments and wins under his belt.

I guess that GSL can be intimidating, though. It's not your run of the mill foreigner tournament with all the fans and support and warm up rounds, and it's in a new environment with a different format.

Doesn't excuse Morrow's poor play, but I think he's better than that as a player. Or if he isn't, then maybe he needs to reevaluate changing to Zerg because he's been Zerg long enough for it to sink in.

Ironically, XiGua who looked so bad in his games ended up being the only foreigner to take a game today.

I wonder sometimes if the Korean way of training is better for Terrans in general. If we assume that Zerg is the reactionary race then we can assume they cant have 3 build orders planned out going into the match. As a terran, they can just practice 3 build orders to a crisp and then play those. The zerg must react to whatever the Terran does... I dunno if it can have any effect.

Ret.
People will say "but he no win tournament". However he keeps placing hight, not uncomon for top 4, even vs koreans. Ret is really really really good IMO. Stephano is better, and one reason is that he can controle his nervs quite well it seems.
But the beastliest zergs in EU is probably Stephano, Nerchio, Ret and Dimaga. I think Morrow still needs time to get up there, I also think he needs time to learn to handle the stress of being on stage (all sweeds do) and being a "foreign hope".

Still, I really really hope Ret and Naniwa get a chanse in GSL.

No, they are just bad. They don't practice nearly as much as Koreans and not as well. This is the reason, don't make excuses for them. I respect koreans so much for being so good. Foreigners are just lazy.

These posts are really getting obnoxious.

Even a player who didn't practice in months wouldn't have died to a Hellion runby, these games were obviously not representative of Morrow's skill, and anyone with a modicum of knowledge and common sense is aware of this.

Argh, LR threads.

Why doesn't this happen to top korean zergs then? Because they've practiced in hundreds of times. Morrow dies to this stuff ALL the time. Every time I see him play, he gets rolled by hellions in some way. He doesnt practice enough.

And here I thought Korean zergs was raped all day, too =P

Also, why why why why would you get 4 queens AND have the first two make creep tumors?! The advantage of 4 queens is that you get both the creep spread WHILE not sarcrificing any injects!!

Because you won't have the money to use up all your larvae the first two injects would give you when you hatch first, therefore it's more beneficial to get the tumours earlier

Well the Terrans that won won against foreigners not sure if that really counts. BTW only 2 Tosses lost in the first round and one of them is was a foreigner. Toss is def dominating this whole GSL Season glad i didn't buy a pass.

Let's kind of forget that this game happened.

So you think that it´s Blizzards fault that Morrow messed up his defence? Not being able to block the ramp with 4(!) queens?

You know there's a chance that the OP is called David right? He may not be pretending to be David Kim

Oh. OHH! That's why he thought I was blaming the game X.X. No my name is David. Sorry that's kind of just a thing I do, say something then end it with Love, David. My bad wasn't trying to imply I was David Kim or anything T.T

Is your surname Kim? Because that may cause issues later on

If my dream of marrying a Korean and taking her last name pans out, then maybe it will be :D

the sad thing is that I think maru wouldn't try hellion runby against korean zerg, you have to be pretty confident to do that
