Playing in eu and US playhem online tourneys and other online tourneys in the same day, streaming for 10+ hours per day. He practiced a shit ton for MLG now he's in the finals at IEM. He worked hard.

maybe the best players just should not be invited if theres such a big skill difference. i mean "have the best possible games with the best possible players" is fine, but until the best players (the koreans so to speak) meet somewhere in the semifinals, its just kind of a slaughter of foreigners. wouldnt it be nice for once to have only foreigners in a tournament? to have a more equal level of skill and therfore closer games? dont get me wrong, im no kind of korean hater or some bs like that, but it just kind of bores me to see so many onesided games. sure there are surprises from time to time, sure the underdog wins sometimes, but mostly its just the same thing as always.

Excluding those minor LR quibbles, my thoughts so far: Violet's a pretty damn good player considering he's not actually based in Korea, and Supernova has been below his best but still got through, should be an epic finals in the best SC2 matchup anyway! Also impressive how quickly Ret has gotten back to some semblance of shape, he seems to be that kind of streaky player. The Ret of Bnet EU Invitational/Dreamhack Winter was unrecognisibly better than the Ret at HSC, and now he's coming back to that kind of level

viOlet's super charismatic, picks up fans and friends wherever he goes. Amazing signing for Empire tbh. Hope IEM return to Brazil because this event really has been great.

Maybe if the Europeans and North Americans actually practiced at the level of Koreans and got as skilled as them, we'd see that. This isn't on the Koreans for being better, it's on the rest of the world for being worse.
