You think Hyun would have advanced given the way he played against any other Terran? You have to be joking. Game 2 was SOOOO bad.

From all the games I've seen of Hyun (many now between the KRweekly, KSL GSL and the odd stream pairing) he is good mechanically, and he understands the game somewhat but there are intricacies with regards to decision making and prediction and reading of the opponent that he just doesn't understand quite yet. He is very inconsistent with his reads.

He is very inconsistent with his reads. That second game on Antiga was BAFFLING. He never got infestors despite his baneling heavy style (gonna beat marines in this day and age with blings off creep? lol) and continued to clump his banelings together and smash them into tanks. It was almost as if he believed his superior macro (he had to be injecting like a boss to support than larva heavy style) would be enough to beat Taeja. Obviously, it was not. I know not many will agree, but I firmly believe that the reduced mechanical requirements of SC2 make the game more tactically and strategically deep than BW, if only because more can be done with less APM, opening more possibilities.

Screwing up my liquibets since ... well, since I started betting on him. At least the rest of ST made it through. Code A qualifiers gonna be scary next season with LosirA and Bomber waiting in the wings.

Furthermore, Hyun's lackluster performances have been oscillating between mildly good to mildly bad in Code B tournaments; Symbol seems to play better than him, frankly, even if he does not receive nearly as much hype.

Hyun and Seal will likely lose though. TBH the zergs playing today are not really anything special though, so it shouldn't trigger zerg tears.I predict that 3 of the 7 zergs today will win. I guess we weren't too far off.
