Nestea picking DRG has nothing to do with proving anything, he just trusts himself in ZvZ more than any other matchup. If you look at Nestea's past history of picking opponents, you'll see that he always picks who he thinks he can beat easily and he often picks Zergs. In this case, he had to choose one of 2 Zergs, and Curious has quite good ZvZ. He may have also considered the fact, that DRG has a good chance of beating his other possible opponents, making it easier for Nestea to finish top 2. What Nestea was probably thinking: "I'll beat DRG in ZvZ, he'll play the loser's match, I'll play the winner's match. He'll probably end up winning against whoever he plays against in the loser's match, so even if I lose the winner's match, I'll end up playing him again, so all I need to win is two ZvZs and I'm through" I very much think it is for both reasons. If you think that Nestea doesn't want to silence the doubters then you are crazy.
On a side note... man do I ever hope MMA improved his TVP or he is done for -_-

Wow Group D group of death

WTF?!??!?!?!? came out of nowhere... Sorry :D It's an "if" and not "it" tho. When he was speaking there was Ganzi in the background and I thought he was hot :D

(Incidentally, I'd go gay for Lyn.)
Hoping Curious and Parting make it out of their respective groups, but man, it'll be hard, especially for Curious ... MVP and Gumiho and aLive's pretty damn good. Hmm. Well, at least he only has to practice one match-up.

Predictions;
A: MVP Could use just mouse and win, How did he get so lucky? Second I'd say Curious since both other players looked kinda sloppy.
B: MMA and Oz. MMA is probably the best player in the world right now and Oz is so solid a bit below MC when MC's on but very much more consistant.
C: Jjakji and MC. Ganzi has no chance with BossToss and Verygoodtoss in his group even 1/1/1ing due to 3 maps ea. Parting is not MC.
D: Group D. Uh...WTF? Whatever I'll be glued to LCD.

LOL man Oz really hates Slayers and he has it out for them for some reason. I don't remember them doing anything to him but he mentioned that they get all the attention and that he's better than them so it seems like he's just jealous hehe.

My god group D. That should be a pretty brutal struggle.
|
definetly, grup D the group of death.
|
Group C and D brain overload...
|
As a MC fan I'm worried about his group.
Ganzi is such a solid terran, he should move into the group of elite terrans very soon.
And then he has Jjakji who just came off a GSL win
Parting is one of the weakest players here, but PvP is still a gimmicky matchup, and MC has been known to lose to Protoss ALOT

MMA is going to kill his coach when he gets back.

I'd like to see someone make a non-group of death out of these players. So good.
Man I love the GSL.

never fails MKP is always in the group of death lol

I am confused on why MMA's coach picked Oz though...Hopefully MMA has drastically improved his TvP but I hope it does not backfire on him.
Nestea picking DRG to prove that he is still the top Zerg. DRG has been on a tear recently, but Nestea seems to be back in shape after his RO32 performance. Anticipating the clash of the Zerg titans. Maybe it's trial by fire... I think SlayerS often likes to encourage players to face their weaknesses by putting them in tough situations (like when MMA picked Yugioh for his group a while back - sucked to be Yugioh!). This way MMA will be forced to work on his weakest matchup rather than just hope to not run into Protoss at some point. lol what tvz is not mma weakest matchup, he picked yugioh because he see him as a weak player and that he never lost to him from practice match
He means TvP.
How did you not get that?

Oh god, Group D. MC may have some trouble in his group though, and MMA got protoss out of the possible 3. :-/
|
I've always wondered why MMA's weakest matchup is Protoss, considering he is a primarily bio player known for his drops and multi-tasking, skills very important in the matchup. Anybody got some insight?

GROUP S SICKEST GROUP OF DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MMA vs Protoss? you better practice hard MMA.

None of these groups are easy, I dont think its a particularly bad group for him
