I think that basing the top 4 picks off total points is muuuuch better than off the previous tournament results. When we look at any one particular tournament it is hard to place who is the best players. You will have MC fall or MVP fall or some combination of the top 10 players will fail to advance far, even though we all know these players are the best. We end up with really lame finals because of things like groups of death and good players falling to soon. When you base off the over all points you have for sure the most consistently good players spread out as much as possible.

agreed, I would like to see aLive, Ganzi and SuperNova (the 4 least scary Terrans from the pool) in Nestea's grp

They should add some decay to those GSL points, last three tournaments 1x multiplier and those before that 0.5x with the ones older then a year 0x. MC being #3 still based on GSLs 10 months ago is a bit silly.

I agree. Yeah, in theory using 2011 points isn't a good idea, but in practice for this tournament only it's perfect to have the big 4 in 4 different groups.

Let's see how it goes for a season or two. Group nominations add to the rivalry and entertainment factor in my opinion. Basing it off of 2011 points is good because it allows the consistently good players pick, rather than someone who had a really good day in the RO32. At least that is my opinion.

FOr some reason I feel like Nestea is going to pick Parting.

MC might go for Curious, especially after the games he showed against Oz.... (though the Inca games were ok..)

And MMA, no idea.

I think besides matchups and so forth, a lot of these guys seems to know each other well and are practice partners... So not sure how it will play out... I think slightly different from Ro32 before because there were many more 'new' comers so players probably had a lot more players that they didn't know well...

since the SlayerS coach will be picking for MMA, I highly doubt he'll make any unreasonable/emotional picks. Most likely it will be very strategic based off cold statistics.

Then I guess Mvp and NesTea should take back 5k points from January and May, since those were a year ago and 8 months ago, respectively; and shouldn't count either.
