Does the ace player have to be one of the 4 who have already played? Tried to check official NASL rosters but they are out of date (EG) or missing completely (Empire)

No. Anyone from their roster can play in the Ace match even if they didn't play in the first 4.

Also updated the OP with the schedule link and EU Broadcast time.

I feel team leagues in 2012 will be much better because the teams feel a bit more "developed" and they have grown into roles, making them much more identifiable.

Hard to predict, especially if it comes down to the ace match. Kas could beat Puma, nad he has shown that he can also beat Idra. Should be interesting.
I predict 3:2 for Empire.

hm... my guess is the following:

Happy < PuMa
Aristeo < JYP
BeastyQt > DeMusliM
Kas > Machine

Ace:
Kas vs ???

so either 3-2 or 2-3

Could be 3-0 EG, In my eyes DeMusliM vs BeastyQt is a coinflip, I'd favour Demu by just a bit, and JYP and PuMa are favoured. Otherwise I'd like to see it go to an Ace if possible!

EG wins 3-2 probably with Kas, Beasty, JYP and Puma winning their matches :/ Puma or JYP will probably win the ace match.

There's no way JYP will be the ace. Kas is known as the ace player for Empire, so sending out JYP against him would be an incredibly stupid move.

I hope it goes to the ace, the predictions you posted seem most likely and an ace match with Kas vs Puma would be quite exciting.

Empire probably bit themselves in the ass after seeing that Kas got matched up against Machine, most people on Empire should beat Machine and he'd be much better off playing against Demuslim or JYP. Puma probably not, I'd rather expect a loss in that game and focus on winning the other ones.

If the matchups were Happy vs Machine, Aristeo vs Puma, and Kas/beastyqt vs JYP/Demuslim, I'd have given Empire good odds on beating EG without an ace match. Tough luck, I'd say.

I don't understand why the main NASTL tournament is using a different match format than the qualifers, which were all-kill format. What is the point of that and how does it make any sense at all?

Really hoping it goes to Ace match and EG throws out Idra.

Edit: Who then takes the win.

EG has this, I do believe that the NASTL will bring some very good numbers.

It makes scheduling more fair and reasonable on a weekly basis for teams, particularly if they have players living around the globe. In an all-kill, you'd need to have the entire team online at once, which could be 10am for one player, and 2am for another. While someone might be able to deal with that for one weekend in a qualifier, it's a bit rough to do on a weekly basis.

This way, each of the first four matches can be scheduled individually at different times throughout the day so that you know the players are playing at their best and not completely throwing their sleeping patterns around.

This should be a good series of matches, especially looking forward to Beastyqt vs Demuslim.
