You summed it up well and you're both right, because it was best of ones, MKP just wouldn't play standard and was waaaaay too gimicky, which was such a shame because by being a ladder king he had so much best of 1 experience to draw on so he didn't need to take the sort of risks he kept taking. Looks way more stable in this best of 3 format, and I'd say the same for all of Code S so far this season - the games are just way better quality. | ||

Because there's no pressure in ladder games. MarineKing is also someone who's clearly effected by mentality as well. Just look at his runs where he isn't forced to play Best of 1s. Super Tournament, his MLG runs, his Code A runs, and Arena of Legends season 1. He plays pretty similar like he played today, but I agree that his games today were definitely on a bit higher level. | ||

I think he's always been one of the most talented players, but I get the impression that he has got confused with which style to play, and possible nerve issues. A few people have said that he was one of the strongest players online. He just hasn't seemed as good as MVP and MMA since the early GSL. Maybe going to MLG and HSC4 has helped him to improve his tactics and composure. | ||
