You got a good point, but I do not think that Stephano would get affected too badly about this. I think the complexity thing was more serious, but few remember it now and even fewer care. Tyler did the same thing in groups, but there is very little anger directed towards Tyler.
The community has too short of a memory. Anyone remember Gus Lesdesma and the thousands of dollars that are unaccounted for?

Some enjoy these types of BS jokes, but they only promote more ignorance and stupidity. I don't know any decent people who enjoy these jokes, except those who aren't aware that they are not true. I know nice people who laugh at jokes about French surrendering, because they simply don't study history in their free time, they study their respective majors. Honestly I think all this is just the result of WWII and nothing else. Obviously France isn't historically weak or pathetic, but in WWII they were woefully unprepared and unable to fight Germany. Meanwhile, Britain (a long-running rival of France) was engaged in the worst war they'd ever experienced, with Churchill reciting memorable lines like "we shall never surrender." The result? Britain didn't surrender and ultimately won, while France did the opposite. Yeah, it didn't represent a long-running trend, but making fun of the French is something Brits have done for centuries (it's gone the other way too). People just need to stop getting butthurt. Last I checked, everyone makes fun of America for being fat/stupid/violent/etc. but Americans don't take obsessive offense.
While that is true, that is not where the stereotype of "surrender" started, although it was later quoted in some propaganda. This is something that has become more popular after the 90s and early 2000s. Big thing done during Bush administration is to shit talk countries that did not publicly support invading Iraq. The rest you can wikipedia yourself.

And alone on Westerplatte in Gdansk 200 polish soldiers managed to hold of the whole German army making them think there were over 5000 ppl there for a week, those guys did surrender though :-O
They had orders to defend for at least few hours, defended a week against much bigger forces, firepower from sea and air. well quite good but what is your point?

I'm not even French I just fucking hate people being stupid like this So you actually think that during WWII the french only had 6 battles? Won 4 of them and still managed to be occupied for nearly 6 years? And you call others stupid? Love you too though... so true. WWII being a 4-2 win for france is quite funny if you know that they surrendered 6 weeks after germany started the war against them. I dont think the pols should say anything about surrending considering what happend with you wink:D Did it took more then a week? Anyway why we even having this discussion? Also it's stupid to even say things like this to begin with. The UK didn't surrender because invading an island is pretty damn hard. the USSR almost got fully taken over, but the winter hit and we all know the history of Russian winter warfare. And of course, the US/Canada/etc. were all across an ocean. It would be pretty much impossible to force them to surrender.
The usa showed us made japan surrender..across an ocean

Are you serious? I don't think the money is the issue here. Your whole reputation as a professional player is at stake. No account of any player in any sport has happened that just forfeited the finals coz he/she was sleepy. That just makes you look like a complete jackass.

So going up to an ugly person and calling them ugly is funny? I completely disagree with you. Making fun of something that is true (which, sarcastically remarking on an ugly persons looks is btw, so your analogy fails there.) is much meaner, much more stupid and ignorant than making fun of something that's not true.
Heh. I suppose I disagree with your definition of funny. I thought several of the puns in this thread were funny. (But of course as always on the internet, stuff like this gets discussed for page after page after page, and it stopped being funny after the first 3 or 4.)
But I suppose I'm not a decent person.

You are obviously not ignorant to the definition of racism, you are using it correctly. My point being is that is a very meaningless accomplishment compared to what is actually going on. The actual issue at hand, isn't really that important. To that end, I care not to comment on it, the throwing around of a very important historical concept to play up an issue however, is something I care to comment on. You can't just go around calling everything racist...it devalues the actual concept..>_>

Tournaments should start putting it in writing that you must play every match you are scheduled to or you are subject to disqualification. Idra should have been disqualified from IPL as well, even though his circumstances were much more understandable.

But it's not like the US was short on divisions to begin with. Behind every US division was another one, and another one, and another one, and another one... And they didn't die as quickly as Soviet ones either. Getting through a tank line with actual ammunition is pretty hard.

Why are we arguing WW2, and the fighting spirits of respective nations? This is a thread for a SC2 tournament!

This thread has turned into a history lesson, just keep quiet if you dont have anything to say about the game or anyone involved in it.

As far as I'm concerned, Stephano is raising money to pay his studies. So, if he decided to forfeit the tournament, his studies will show up how much money they need to stand.
