Accusing a TL member in their first high profile match with their new team of match fixing with a friend without any evidence other than a (admittedly large/obvious facepalmy) mistake is just I-can't-believe-I'm-reading-this bad.... at the very very least people should give the benefit of the doubt to the players before discussing it. It's not matchfixing and I see people blaming Inca not Zenio. Zenio just did a build that, once scouted so early, made it VERY difficult for inca to lose but he still managed it.

To be fair to Inca, he's a pretty bad player and hence it's not hard to imagine him doing facepalmingly bad. I'm raging that he's in Code S - I hope he falls straight to Code B next year!

Even if these two never were teammates, it could be that player A prefers B to advance than players C and D, just because he thinks he has better potential vs B. Then in such situation, he would have to act against his own personal interest, if he wins the game and allows C and D to have a shot and continuing further instead. Yep, on this I agree this shouldn't happen. -- Poor inca, people are unfair, he got better since his finals vs Nestea ![]()

Accusing someone on one fluke alone is bad but censoring any discussion about it is even worse, regardless of that player being member of this site's team or not. Last month should have given enough proof that pool play is simply not suited for starcraft. There are too many things that can go wrong when the match is not important for one or both players. Compare that with the fact that BO1 is regarded stupid by many even when it's multiple Bo1's against one Bo3 then it should be clear for GSL that ridding their format of pools is just best. Simply play forms of double or single elimination, it's much more elegant and all matches will always be important for each player. The only disadvantage perhaps is that you get to see the players that win often duke it out less but having a fairer system overall is worth it. There are simply too many connections between players (clans, friends, etc.) to have pool play decide matters like this. I'm not suggesting talking about it should be prohibited, that would be silly. I'm simply saying that the starting point shouldn't be the assumption that it happened, which, for many here, it seems to be. Serious accusations should have serious evidence.

(Many people expressed that view in this thread.) Hence, when blunders like this one happen, it leaves a bad aftertaste in the mouth. You can't really blame people for being suspicious, in a way it's human nature. (just to corroborate why situations like this one should be avoided) winning against friends isn't always easy: ![]()
