wow, inca over polt, I thought I'd never see the day >.> guess I'll have to watch the vods soon =( I don't care so much that polt is stuck in code A rather that it was inca who advanced over him.....

I can't believe one of worst players, Inca, is in Code S - very poor of Polt and Losira to lose to him in the first place! I mean, you can call the DTs even before the game has begun. If either of them had won, I'll be laughing at Inca for his colossal "normal play" (i.e. his normal play is bad) in the final game, but I'm not amused atm.

Accusing a TL member in their first high profile match with their new team of match fixing with a friend without any evidence other than a (admittedly large/obvious facepalmy) mistake is just I-can't-believe-I'm-reading-this bad....

at the very very least people should give the benefit of the doubt to the players before discussing it.

It's not matchfixing and I see people blaming Inca not Zenio. Zenio just did a build that, once scouted so early, made it VERY difficult for inca to lose but he still managed it.

To be fair to Inca, he's a pretty bad player and hence it's not hard to imagine him doing facepalmingly bad. I'm raging that he's in Code S - I hope he falls straight to Code B next year!

This was really a one time thing, as GOM as a rule to change the order of matches and make teammates play first when those kind of scenario happens. This time was "special", as they're not teammates officially anymore, but GOM should still have made them play first. They'll learn from this and it won't happen again I think.
I only like to point out that the most important factor is not team affiliation, but the fact that a player can "choose" future potential opponents. Even if these two never were teammates, it could be that player A prefers B to advance than players C and D, just because he thinks he has better potential vs B. Then in such situation, he would have to act against his own personal interest, if he wins the game and allows C and D to have a shot and continuing further instead.

Yep, on this I agree this shouldn't happen.

--

Poor inca, people are unfair, he got better since his finals vs Nestea In fact, today is the first time I saw him made DT since quite a longtime.

It's not all doom and gloom. The number of terrans in Code S took a hit, maybe that will cheer you all up.

They should really make it so that teammates play eachother first! I dont think they fixed the match but Inca might have thought, I'll make this little mistake so that my old teammate (Zenio) can get in to code S.

There is practically always doubt when it comes to issues like these, why would you ever want to prohibit discussion about it??
Accusing someone on one fluke alone is bad but censoring any discussion about it is even worse, regardless of that player being member of this site's team or not.

Last month should have given enough proof that pool play is simply not suited for starcraft. There are too many things that can go wrong when the match is not important for one or both players. Compare that with the fact that BO1 is regarded stupid by many even when it's multiple Bo1's against one Bo3 then it should be clear for GSL that ridding their format of pools is just best.

Simply play forms of double or single elimination, it's much more elegant and all matches will always be important for each player. The only disadvantage perhaps is that you get to see the players that win often duke it out less but having a fairer system overall is worth it. There are simply too many connections between players (clans, friends, etc.) to have pool play decide matters like this.

I'm not suggesting talking about it should be prohibited, that would be silly. I'm simply saying that the starting point shouldn't be the assumption that it happened, which, for many here, it seems to be. Serious accusations should have serious evidence.

Everyone feels it's hard to kick a friend out of an important tournament when nothing is on the line for yourself. (Many people expressed that view in this thread.)
Hence, when blunders like this one happen, it leaves a bad aftertaste in the mouth. You can't really blame people for being suspicious, in a way it's human nature.

(just to corroborate why situations like this one should be avoided)

winning against friends isn't always easy:

Lol. but when all terrans did 1/1/1 to turn GomTV into GomTvT it was fine? :D

I think InCa deserved it obviously, everyone knew his go to unit is DTs yet they lost.

Inca is nowhere near as bad as people are making him out to be. It is Polt and Losira's fault they lost, not his fault that he won. He has shown a new level of play, both in the Korean Weekly, and in his previous Code A match, before this season, against DRG (I thought he played really well vs DRG back then). He is a capable player that may or may not get nerves on stage. No need to shit all over him. The system worked, he beat 2 ex-Code S players in Bo1 and finished 2nd in the Up and Down group, so he goes up to Code S. If you want to complain about a so-called bad player going to Code S, then talking to Losira and Polt and ask them how they lost to Inca, even though they know DT is his trademark, and there are standard timings for turrets/spores. If they are so much better than him, they can afford the slight loss of economy for 100% safety. Similarly, ask Losira how he lost to a 'worse' player in Zenio, despite gaining an advantage in the early game. Don't blame the player who won, blame the one you wanted to win, who lost, as it is his fault.
