Contrary to popular belief Stephano is not from the States, any mindless spam asserting otherwise after this time (19:48 KST/ 5:48 AM EST/ 10:48 GMT) will meet a moderator response. We have enough confusing spam posting in LR threads these days. Lets try to keep the love for everyone's favourite French zerg reasonable.
And as always: - No player bashing. - No caster bashing. - No balance whining.
Enjoy the games. |

Ofcourse ladder means something the top korean players spending hours and hours practising on the ladder. If ladder didnt mean nothing they would just play custom. Just a fact before MMA and DRG got known they were a ladder beast with big win %. And in korea its actually very rare to see zergs with high win % on the korean GM I'm pretty sure they do custom. Especially when practicing for a tournament. Otherwise you are just showing off your builds...
Ofcourse they do custom alot also but they practise timings and mechanics on ladder. Or els there really woulnt be a point playing ladder games. Its good practise becuase of the skill level of all these great players. And what Stephano has done within 1 week in Korea is very impressive and quite unheard off without korean training.

lol.. sad you think ladder actually means anything . did you not see xigua get destroyed last night? if you read his interview, you will note that he is top GM on korean ladder. ladder accounts for <10% of the games most of these pros play.

I am sorry but you can't put him as a favorite in any of the players he is playing today.
DRG/Hero/MC/MVP all considered top tier players. He may have a good win rate on ladder but that means nothing it really doesn't don't look so much into it. He's a really good player there is no denying it but to think he is a favorite vs those 4 players is just being blind.

guess is 1) MVP 2) Hero 3) MC 4) Stephano 5) DRG

oh come on, I'm not a massive Stephano fan either but I'd put him over MC. Especially with the map. MC hasn't managed to get a lock on his pvz, which even he admits.

Haha.... MC will stomp again. Back in full force. You will see.

Still wouldn't make him a favorite. Stephano has said also zvp is his worst match up. I still see MC winning it. Not saying he can't beat any of them but I am saying he's not favored going into any of those matches. He will probably beat 1 but I don't see him making it out of the group.

I have: 4-0 MVP 3-1 DRG (losing to MVP) 1-3 MC (beating hero) 1-3 Stephano (beating MC) 1-3 Hero (beating Stephano)
but with bo1's, anything can happen (I would really like these results too for a tiebreaker :D)
Then in the tie breaker I could see it going 1-2 all around again, but my wager is that MC would fall off before the others, then hero over stephano.
So final results would be: 1: MVP 2: DRG 3: HerO 4: Stephano 5: MC

MC beat dongraegu in KSL and plus he raped Stephano on the ladder and every one seems to put so much importance on that. Plus he's 2-0 all time. Stephano could win but MC is favored.

The korean/foreign divide really makes people irrational. Yeah, this is TL and its going to have a pro-foreign bias but at some point people should just forget the nationalities of the players and when judged on skill alone, I don't see how stephano can have all these expectations, especially against this lineup.

When any of these players are at their best they can absolutely dominate. The difference is that some of them can dominate even when they aren't at their best, such as MVP.

Prediction: Hero gets mistaken for being Bisu and is crowded by BW fans, thus missing his matches. Desperate for a replacement, the GOM officials search the studio and find... HAYPRO. 1. Based Haypro 2. Mvp 3. Stephano 4. MC 5. Dongraegu
