Lucky is NaNiWa's toughest challenge on the road to Code S, IMO. If he beats Lucky, he can get Code S directly.

HongUn's PvZ is so funny. You'd think his blink stalker attacks would fail eventually, but they just keep on winning somehow.

Though he was pretty much screwed because of the choke anyway.

JYP is one of the better Koreans, so not too bad losing to him. Think Naniwa has a good chance of advancing, though it seems like foreigners never play up to standard vs Koreans.

Or maybe Koreans usually play better than foreigners, and foreigners keep using excuses instead of getting better.

Only Huk and Idra can hang with Koreans these days and the results prove it.

*Cough* Stephano *Cough* ^.^

Sigh, wait till Stephano competes in Korea, and people like to gloss over the fact that Stephano didn't make it very far at all at MLG orlando

lol?

he came from the open bracket and got that far. the amount of Bo3 he won in a row is amazing, and you say that? wowwoow

Sigh again, another fanatic. How many notable players did he beat? Players have come out of the open bracket and had much better showings, ones that comes off the top of my head? Ganzi, SaSe, MKP

Sigh anotzher US citizen whose only goal is it to downplay Stephano.
Get over it it this IS good, he beat your beloved huk 2-0 and several koreans (marineking, mma etc.) in his last tournaments.
Just stop it, you are only biased because you dont like that europeans are hyping him, but you are not better at all, because you are downplaying him just because he gets hyped, that is just a stupid reason

Until he competes in gsl im going to place him as an amazing player but not better than huk or idra. The guy also said sase came from the open bracket and had a much better run than stephano. Also the 2 tournamentss that stephano won didnt have the best koreans. Compare that to dreamhack and orlando,, its laughable. Stephano is an amazing player but he needs to be proven in gsl

Counterexample?

you watched BW, do I really have to?
I remember first TV game chokes and finals chokes; not usually qualifier chokes? Note that I said 'most nerve issues'. Perhaps the poster before me is correct in saying that sase isn't comfortable in this environment.

This whole thread tonight is an exercise in hypocrisy. TL admins participating in extensive debate about who was a better BW player out of forGG/MVP when MVP isn't even playing, all while the next game is going on in a LR thread. Irrelevant discussion like that is usually hammered down with impunity.
I'll pretend that the comment about Sase isn't the typical BW elitist attitude for the minute, but do note the success of foreign W3 players vs foreign SC2 players.

Eh? I'd say the same thing if people said idra was eliminated because of nerves. I think you have a bone to pick with me/TL for some reason you've been harping on about it all night!

Please address my first point if you want to have a leg to stand on.

I dont see people being hammered down for it. Care to link me to some bans/warnings?

Irrelevant discussion - usually balance related - results in banning holocausts usually.

Nothing in the discussion had anything to do with balance whatsoever. O_o

Hence why I used the word "usually"........

If there was an issue about the topic of discussion, aside from balance, there would have been a thread warning before any bans. We're not super ban happy people like you think we are.

Laxx is confusing SaSe with Stephano. SaSe went 4-1 in pool play.

Man that was disappointing, been reading all the hype about Sase and his amazing control and whatnot and then he loses in the first round :/. Guess foreigners need to be placed directly into Code S finals before they take GSL seriously and practice hard and properly.

I can assure you, SaSe trains very hard. To suggest that he doesn't take GSL seriously is a bit unfair.

Keep in mind that Kim has been quite ill the past week. He said earlier today that he definitely wasn't feeling 100%.

Incorrect. He went undefeated through the Open Bracket, went 4-1 in his pool, and then lost to Boxer 1-2. He didn't even play TheSTC.

Im afraid you are the one that is incorrect. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Orlando/Open_Bracket
Stephano lost to theSTC, and worked his way through the open loser bracket before his run finally ended vs Boxer.

How can anyone be so incorrect yet so confident ....

uhh...youre incorrect yet confident. He lost to thestc in the open bracket, then lost to boxer after making it through to the championship bracket and beating a lot of people

(we're talking about stephano in case thats not who you thought)

Real magikarps. They might eventually turn into Gyarados (like Mvp) but most just make a few splashes then disappear.

lol. NaDa is tough too, but NaNiWa's PvT is far superior to his PvZ. Assuming MC doesn't come 4th in his group, I'm sure NaNiWa can beat GanZi, Puzzle or sC.
