Pffft. I think everyone's making WAYYY too big a deal of this (well, it's not as bad as the whole Milkis affair, at least). YuGiOh didn't have much chance wherever he went, and he knew it. I think MMA knew that, and the rest of the SlayerS team knew it too. This is the individual league - not the team league. They practice together and they support each other emotionally, but that doesn't mean that you can't take a free win from a team-mate if you know you can to advance.

It shows a flaw in a BO1 format, though. You should not be able to be number 1 off of taking a crazy risk like that and getting lucky once against a far superior player.

Well the way I see it is that if you won, you probably made less mistakes than the other guy. I don't consider the overall better player winning = deserved to win, I consider whoever played better/made less mistakes in that single match = deserved to win. Just cuz you're the underdog and you won in an unconventional way doesn't mean you didn't deserve it or played better/smarter/whatever that match.
That's how I see it anyway
