1. TheSTC loses to Huk in Winners' Finals
2. MC beats MarineKing
3. MC beats winner of Bomber and Hongun/Idra.
4. MC beats TheSTC.

It actually seems pretty likely that TheSTC will finally make it out of Code B!

they can't possibly take top 3 no matter what, look at the brackets
are they lost forever?

For pool play, it's pretty stupid.

If anything, Boxer was helped by the fact that it was double elimination and that he didn't auto-lose from getting 2-0ed by IdrA lol

Why do people QQ about this format every tournament -.-' Get over it, people.

Final score between IdrA and Boxer is 4-3 Idra. That means Boxer loses.

Because Idra is already rewarded with higher seeding, is automatically moved further into the tourney, gets an unfair 2-0 advantage in a second series that should be considered completely separate because it's championship losers bracket not the seeding pool. How hard is that to understand?

But extended series just provided one of the best series (for spectators) in any MLG. For players it's fucking awful, sure, but that was great to watch.

Is there any possibility to get the music MLG uses between the games? That stuff going on Red stream now for example.

Extended series is almost always bad. Why can't we just have BO5 this late in the tournament? Seems super volatile having BO3 this late.

They don't give Code A spots to Koreans. Korean players can only earn Code S by placing top 3 and being the best-placing person who does not already have Code S.

"Puma is going to play a consolation for 7th place now. If he wins that, he makes Top 16 at MLG Providence.
If he loses his consolation, InControl will be in the Top 16 at Providence.

Puma will play the loser of Idra vs HongUn in his consolation match. "

hmmm, what will happen if it is puma vs idra...? XD

just because incontrol went 0-5 his last 4 mlg´s does not mean he is not deserving it. Mlg rules rule over who is deserving and who is not.

Cant tell if serious ...

As a protoss fan i really hate to see MC win games like that. An immortal timing push and a game where Puma pushed up the ramp when he shouldn't have (although i didn't see how many SCV's he lost in that first battle his 3, 3 should have been enough to easily hold off any push from the protoss for the foreseeable future). I'm still waiting for a protoss to compete in a macro game with a top level Korean terran like bomber, MVP or Puma. Good game by MC but i don't think these are great examples of games we can learn much about how to play protoss.

have you like watched the games between puma and mc in the nasl finals? there were some pretty intense macro games which mc won impressively by completely denying drops (escpecially the game on taldarim)
when you can win before the late game. why shouldnt you?
damn. youre no real protoss fan

btw: you could have learned tons about unit control in the last game
I tink, MC so sterong

you are right to a degree, but don't think gameplay is independent of the series. if both boxer and idra knew it was just a bo3 they may have played differently. you can't speculate that boxer would have advanced without extended series because both players knew it was.

likely indeed,

Idra still has a shot also, who knows he might take it since there were plans that he would return to korea anyway right?

ah well let's just enjoy the games now and speculate later :D

You mean incontrol might still get seeded for the next MLG? wtf?

Seriously, he is not a player of seeded caliber... not with the competition out there right now.

Ive asked this 100x and no one will answer what player who has attended every MLG this year deserves it more?

Why not remove your nonsensical qualification and simply ask the fair question: Who deserves the spot?

Its not a nonsensical qualification when its a season based thing. In a season every game counts the same as the one before it just as every MLG counts the same as the one before it. So people who skipped events dont get to lay claim to deserving points over someone who didnt. Therefore the only way someone can say they deserve it more is if they attended every MLG and are a better player.

Well at least he beat stephano and sase, im surprised he beat stephano (i wonder how he won, if it was macro that'd be really surprising, considering how good stephano is, beating people like MMA MKP etc.)

but yeah im sadi f he actually beat idra 4-3 tha would be epic

But just remember, he did win 3-2 today, so in a way he did win ^0^. Perhaps complaints about this may change MLG's mind about the extended rules series (which i see is unfair now, plus i heard most pros said they didn't like it back then)

playing who for consolation?

Loser of HongUn/Idra

When IdrA loses he will 100% give PuMa the win, most of the time nobody shows up to the consolation matches anyway

giving puma the win so his teammate wont be seeded next mlg? That would be kind of bad mannered :S
