It's only true for units and upgrades, not buildings (hence the visual cue added in the latest patch) If a building under construction is destroyed, you don't get anything back, the full cost is definitely lost if you didn't cancel it. But you're right, it's actually a common misconception that canceling an upgrade or a unit as a building gets attacked is a must-do. At most, you get back the resources earlier, but you will get them anyway as the building disappears even if the building is still researching or making its unit, and you will get 100% of the cost, not 75% as for building canceling. I think this was the case in Broodwar too. Warpgates work the same way, if the power field disappears as you're warping in, you get 100% of the unit cost back, and the cooldown as well. | ||
