No player/caster bashing, or balance whining. Bans will be handed out like candy. (page 131) |

Yes the plott brothers rarely cast together. Artosis and Day9 do rarely, thats bout it. ps. i haven't seen it yet, but i dream of a day when day 9 and idra cast together
In the early days of SC2 the 3 of them would cast together, but you rarely see Sean and Nick casting as a duo. It's almost like they need the 3rd person to balance the force :p

I reckon Stephano for Pool A, MarineKing for Pool B, aLive for Pool C and HasuObs for Pool D.

And I think Sase is a pretty big prick for him to beat, both have great micro, just give Sase a bit advantage cuz he trains in Korea.

Idra just needs to beat TLO and he's very unlikely to get MKP in his Pool. MKP is the only player in the Open that can 5-0 a Pool.
We all really want Jinro to make Pools, as we get a Jinro vs Idra rematch! That'd be awesome.
Pool B:
Bomber is winning this group. This is MKP's most likely group to land into. Which, while I think MKP can take Bomber (2-1 series), I don't know if MKP can 5-0 the entire Pool. Pool B is far & away the hardest of the lot.
Pool C:
Ret just needs to beat Rain. That puts him 4-0 and the winner of Alive & Inori should end up here. Ret actually beat Alive @ IPL 3 and I think he's playing better right now anyway.
Pool D:
Huk has Hero to play still. This group is *anything* but set. Huk, Hero, July or the player from the Open bracket (winner of STC vs Stephano, most likely) could all take this. If Huk beats Hero, though, he likely comes out of this group.
For the Championship Quarters, it's A vs D and B vs C.
We're on track for: Idra vs Huk & Bomber vs Ret. I soooooooooo want that. Why do you think MKP is unlikely to go into Group A? My predictions to advance are: MKP (37 seed) Stephano (40 seed) aLive (38 seed) SaSe (39 seed) These 4 are the favourites. If these 4 do come out, then MKP goes straight into Pool A. In fact, the only way MKP won't make it is if a higher seed comes out (the only ones with a realistic chance are Jinro/Vibe) or MKP doesn't come out of the open bracket. Aside from that, there is a very very high chance MKP heads over to Pool A.
Jinro and Vibe could both take their brackets, and MKP over HwaingSin isn't a given, yet. MKP has a good chance to make Pool A, but I wouldn't handicap it that way, just yet.
That and I really, really want Idra vs Jinro again, haha. There's also the issue that if Stephano beats STC, he'll have to play a ZvZ. A little bad luck and Vibe or DarkCell come out of Bracket 1.

whats going on? are the games already over? been waiting for a while now =(

So I need to pay to watch vods?
And idra boxer not played?

stephano vs stc is no given either... stephano was playing tired in his series against white ra, and thestc is no pushover and won't be surprised by stephano's style this time. It will be stephano's toughest hurdle thus far.

I mean, yea its possible MKP won't be the highest seed. But I'd say odds are MKP joins pool A.

hwangsin is pretty good Hwangsin maaay cheese out MKP in two games. But Hwangsin just isn't on the same level as MKP in a macro game.

Ahh I can fast-forward :D thought I must watch whole thing ^^

wowowow Idra, Ret, and Huk all 6-1........factoring in Idra/Stephano's last two major tournament wins, could it really be that we are watching the rise of the foreigners?
Is this the fall of the Korean Kings?
Only time will tell....I CANT wait for tomorrow!

Whoa Incontrol won a game. Beasting it. Can't wait to see who gets in what pools from open, too bad bracket 1 had like half my favorites from open >,< Pool A and C are pretty weak compared to B and D, hope they get the strongest open players to even things out a bit.
|
iNcontrol took a game, good to see. Seems like Tyler's special PvP builds aren't working, and I'm surprised again by how good ret is performing. If only he can keep it up

Which is why I didn't handicap MKP to Pool A, lol. HwangSin is a complete wildcard.
As for Jinro, we haven't seen a lot of him lately. I do think SaSe would beat him, but SaSe vs HasuObs is no given.
There's that other thing that Gosuwer beat Polt. Him vs MKP could be real interesting. (Though MKP's style is much better suited for this type of tournament.)
And Alive is kind of lucky. He won't have to deal with a foreigner Zerg until Pool Play. His lot in foreign tournaments is to get knocked out by a foreigner Zerg.

Does anyone know what the order of players going into pool play is?
Is it definitely: Top seed into Pool A 2nd seed into Pool B 3rd seed into Pool C 4th seed into Pool D
I thought I remembered them doing something weird/different last time... but liquipedia says it is the above.
EDIT: Nevermind. Just checked some previous MLGs. Seems to be that way.

Someone not named MKP has to beat Bomber. I don't know if anyone here can do that.
The problem the foreigner scene has right now isn't the whole strength, which has caught up a lot with the investment. The issues is those top 10 players. The highest foreigners have gotten is during GSL January when Idra & Jinro were top 15 in the world. Someone has to knock out Bomber and that's not an easy task. Especially since MVP and MMA aren't here.
But, who knows, someone might have something up their sleeve to knock him out, but he's pretty much got a line right straight to the finals. Unless MKP shows up in his group and beats him.

I don't think it's much of a surprise, huk has always been good, idra definitely up there when he plays well and I think most people would expect ret to beat hongun and rain. Bomber on the other hand is looking really good, we'll have to see who gets seeded into pool play tmr. But this is definitely a good MLG for foreigners to take top spots in pool play.
