Yeah, but we should support all e-sports, if League has insane viewer counts that *awesome* for everyone who likes esports. To have hating of any sort on another game in op is all sorts of BM. It is not as active as booing the Halo award ceremony, but it still should not be there.
I'm not going to support any competitive scene of games I don't like, that would just be stupid of me. I let people support their own eSports while I support mine.
Also can't see anything wrong with hating on casuals.

European players are not performing well so far. The gap between EU and NA seems to close :D

GG Fruitdealer My question is why would APM even be relevant in a game like LoL or DoTA? You can accomplish the same thing with 20 APM if you time your moves correctly. The fact that there is little to no multitasking in that type of game tells me that APM is relatively useless measurement.
Well sometimes you have more than one unit in DotA etc. But a high APM is much more important for lasthitting and denies as you constantly cancel your attack animation to let the damage come into the right second to get the kill on the creep. But APM is definately not as much a factor as in RTS games.

LoL has a much higher viewer rating because it's much more casual friendly. It's one of those games like CoD that you can really just jump right into. Starcraft, on the other hand, is a game that requires dedication and work to get to be a mid-tier player. It turns people off to have to work to get good at a game.

So it could just be Axslav vs Strifecro 8 hours worth of practice, which doesn't sound nearly as impressive. Many people are just not that talented. It's not just quality of practice and hours put in, talent is a huge factor. I disagree entirely with this post. I believe anyone can become a professional player in SC2 if they practice correctly and for long enough. If someone practices 15 hours a day for 5 years and they start off with no "talent" (btw what is your definition of talent?) I refuse to believe they could easily become a TOP professional player.
He didn't say you can't be a professional player but that talent matters in that it's easier (to learn or) to perform at pro level.
If you deny this you deny the very existence of "talent".

Okay. Good enough for me.
MaNa vs TT1 will be interesting. MaNa's PvP is his weakest match-up while TT1 has been having some success in PvP according to TLPD.

You should take into consideration that most of the players in that tournament is medicore at best. The best players are at MLG.

ye close just these days. the gap will exist forever in terms of RTS games. so its not a big deal the europeans cant ALWAYS be better at every single tournament

Nice batch of pictures. Surprised FD isn't wearing his StarTale jersey though.

Honestly, the best players here are pretty much DRG, TOP, and Mana. Everyone else are a class below.
I'd be shocked if one of those 3 don't win.

Love the photos. FD looking like a drug dealer. :D Pretty nice games so far today.

Because the only relationships possible are love and hate, nothing exists in between right?
I've no idea why people keep forcing this issue of "support everything", if anything it only generates more hate than support. People who like LoL will support and watch LoL, people who like Starcraft will support and watch Starcraft, everyone is happy.
Well, everyone except people who care about the concept of e-sports more than the actual games, and I kinda don't mind them being unhappy. -_-

He never said that talent matters in that it's easier to learn or perform at pro level. He said talent is a "huge factor" in playing at a pro level. As in, if you don't have talent, your ability to perform at a pro level is greatly hindered. I disagree with this. I only agree with the idea that talent makes it easier to learn, but is not a factor in determining who is a better player. That is when methodical practice and hard work come into play.

I would say that for the players you listed only Mana is good. Strelok is kinda meh lately. Sjow is unfortunately too slow for this game, and elfi had like one good run in tournaments.
