i don't get it how people always try to imply that players deliberately don't play up to their abilities in certain games, it's disrespectful towards the player and always used by someone who wants to defend a player or prove that he is the god of starcraft

This theory-crafting is ridiculous. MVP won his games because of economic advantage and Nestea's inability or decision not to take a 3rd sooner.
When you have two players at the very highest level, a Terran with 3 bases will almost always beat a Zerg with 2 bases.

If you watch the games DRG lost and the games he won. DRG's reputation on TvZ is mainly based on beating biomech when it was the main terran strategy.
He is UNBEATABLE in that matchup if terran goes straight biomech. His style revolves delaying his third and having a perfect macro.
However, mvp and MKP definitely showed us how to beat DRG-- you either go mech, or you get fast third so DRG will be extremely behind anticipating the attack that doesn't come.....

I never get tired of the various insane metaphors they use to put over the idea that Nestea is amazing. It's not like they didn't give MVP plenty of credit. They said multiple times that they were sure MVP was going to win.

thats not really true at all. you need lings to break tanks though, not mass banes. especially against relatively low marine counts, which MVP had in that last battle. 200 supply tank marine can be tough to break, but the whole goal is to have hive before that comes knocking on your door. Nestea had a really awful early game and thus was slower on his tech.

DRG would have gotten eaten. Main issue with Nestea's ZvT was always the fact that he was too defensive. But this series, he had the macro, the defense, ...a few critically bad decisions but overall good, and above all else he got aggressive. People will always say lesser zergs have better ZvT just because they play lesser terrans. They always ignore how good MVP played and what kind of reactions he forced from Nestea, how he used the map control terran has in the match up. The decisions he made based on knowing how much scouting nestea could do, how much he could move out was really scary to watch. People just see a generic zvt and think, oh well I saw leenock beat someone who made that unit composition in code a, leenock is better than nestea!
Exactly, you guys really think DRG ZvT is way better than Nesteas? Then you should check their respective records against top players. Both are rather similar with DRG edging out just a little bit.
Stephano stomping lesser korean terrans(Still very impressive) but losing to Alive 2 - 1(which DRG/Nestea will probably beat with ease) says its all

Normally I'd pick Ganzi, but after SuperNova's matches against DRG in Ro16 and his WCG group performance (beating TOP in a sick splitmap Shakuras), this can go either way.
