Would he have beat MMA? I don't know. I don't think Stephano would have done what Lucky did and a mass zergling early game against MMA? Or Ryung? Did Stephano have some different builds prepared for them? Maybe yes. Maybe no. Maybe go fuck yourself. We will never know. It is a style thing. Regardless, I think those games would have been awesome and I think everyone would agree that it sucks we didn't get to see them.

I like your theory, it 100% proven. not because. but he wouldve EASILY today. MMA didnt play well the entire tournament. Lucky 3-0d him. Stephano played very very good. create your own story ![]()

Code S, Code B (doing very well at fxokoth), Up&Down CodeA/S, Former CodeS. why so biased :/ ThorZaiN's TvZ is not good enough to be on par with Stephano who is good in all matchups - you could argue about ZvP, but still he beats huk ezpz whenever they meet. MaNa's PvT is up there, but his PvZ isnt. Stephano is clearly the best foreiger atm and he was before IPL3 as well. ppl who say "1 tournament doesnt prove anything" simply do not follow the european scene. Mana's PvZ has definitely gotten better. He's really adapted to the new Protoss expansion style.

Interestingly enough, Alive is 4-1 against Stephano. Beating Stephano twice. That's just kind of odd given that he lost to Ret and Darkforce the way he did. Maybe it's a style thing.

Maybe MMA should have earned the spot to challenge Stephano in the first place. How about that? XD

From my perspective, this cycle of overhyping one messiah only to abandon him and move onto another is pretty unhealthy. Stephano had a great tournament and is obviously a top player, but him beating mid-tier Koreans, (yes, they are mid-tier, because they have not shown to be consistently top-tier -- this should be an easy concept) in one tournament isn't any kind of proof that he's the greatest European player, or whatever else people are saying. While some are trying to discredit Stephano maliciously, that doesn't mean the points raised by others aren't legitimate. My point exactly

NOPE HE DID NOT BEAT MVP, HES TERRIBLE! ... on a fair note: Stephano is AMAZING. I'm a huge fan now, what a guy, he deservers a lot more credit. If he goes to korea he can do REALLY well (code s maybe)

In seriousness you guys Stephano had some great matches this tournament and should be applauded for what he did accomplish. Only the future will tell us how much staying power he has as new challenges emerge and the game matures and changes. Lucky had an amazing run as well and I hope FXO feels justified in sending him and Inori through the open bracket. Idra appears to be maintaining his momentum from IEM and should be a force to be reckoned with at MLG Ret was the last liquid standing this tournament and looks primed for mlg and blizzcon. Finally MMA while dying embarrassingly to lucky still made the semi finals and went through Sheth, sleep and puma to do it which was no easy task. A lot of players put in good performances this tournament, whether we like the results or not no player should have that taken away from them. Any good game or quirky play that entertained someone was a success in some way or another.

The only detractions from it being near perfect were forcing a LoL stream onto the main SC2 stream and the few (very small) blocks of time where they didn't have good distractions up, like when the girls were talking on stage (it was grating) and when there were pauses between games because they finished up earlier than expected there was no active rescheduling to let people know when they could leave and come back. Flawless other than those parts, in my opinion. This is the third time I've actually gotten so excited watching games that I stood up and realized my adrenaline was pumping and my body was heated.

But why dont ppl give a shit about that when HuK wins dreamhack? it was the easiest run someone could DRAW out of the lineup there. or his Code S groups. Most of the time as easy as possible (if sth like that is possible at all). People try to defend Stephano because its the ppl who claimed HuK to be a god shitting on them now with that "easy bracket" argument. and it wasnt easy, it was decent, not hard either compared to what couldve happened.

I didn't say that so don't put words in my mouth. Pathetic straw man tactic. I said beating Lucky who was playing better than those guys is more notable than beating them. If those guys were actually worth beating then they would have made it to the finals but they didn't. Everyone got what they deserved.
