Would he have beat MMA? I don't know. I don't think Stephano would have done what Lucky did and a mass zergling early game against MMA? Or Ryung? Did Stephano have some different builds prepared for them? Maybe yes. Maybe no. Maybe go fuck yourself. We will never know. It is a style thing. Regardless, I think those games would have been awesome and I think everyone would agree that it sucks we didn't get to see them.

Maybe MMA should have earned the spot to challenge Stephano in the first place. How about that? XD

No kidding. I can't believe he lost to the same build after it beat Boxer and after it beat Ryung and after it even beat him once, haha.

I think a lot of people feel that Stephano is getting more credit than he's due. From my perspective, this cycle of overhyping one messiah only to abandon him and move onto another is pretty unhealthy. Stephano had a great tournament and is obviously a top player, but him beating mid-tier Koreans, (yes, they are mid-tier, because they have not shown to be consistently top-tier -- this should be an easy concept) in one tournament isn't any kind of proof that he's the greatest European player, or whatever else people are saying.

While some are trying to discredit Stephano maliciously, that doesn't mean the points raised by others aren't legitimate.

Finally someone with a fucking brain , thank you. !

Great win for stephano. I had my doubts about him, but he is actually a god player. Needs to add consistency to his game. HuK is easily best foreigner still though, needs to travel less.

Interestingly enough, Alive is 4-1 against Stephano. Beating Stephano twice.

That's just kind of odd given that he lost to Ret and Darkforce the way he did. Maybe it's a style thing.

He just massed pure ling in both games vs Alive in this tourney.

Yeah, he won games playing like that on ladder, but that's only because he was much better than his opponents, and not because it's a viable strat.

If he played with the style he showed in all other games, these 2 games would've been very different.

I am so glad that a foreigner was able to win this event, not only that but the wins that many of the others such as Ret, Idra and Whitera were able to take were fairly impressive (even if they didn't make it to the R04).

Oh? I thought it was because MLG Colombus at the time brought a new standard to live event streaming, and IdrA 2-0ing MC opening day.

If i'm not mistaken, the MLG that idra beated MC 2-0 early on had a thread with 1000 pages in the final day when MC 4-0 idra. I may be mistaken tho.

The most annoying thing that will come from Stephano winning IPL3 is this obsession with everyone proclaiming him the new hero of Zerg.

Has he proved he's good? Yes. Does that mean we should take anything away from his win? No.

But you cannot call him the new hero of Zerg or the Best foreigner because he won IPL.

Compare IPL competition to MLG competition,. A lot of the "Code B" players reached the further up stages and as such are what he beat. He's not the god of Zerg / Best foreigner if he's beating Code B players. Leave it at the fact that he's good and he's getting better, stop this bandwagon hype of best foreigner / best zerg ever.

None the less Gz Stephano

Cmon guys you have to admit Stephano got a relatively easy bracket.
Not taking anything away from his win, I watched the ZvZ finals and he completely outplayed Lucky. His game sense is crazy.

By even mentioning that, you're taking things away from his win. He defeated a lot of great players to qualify for IPL, then defeated a lot more great players to win the tournament. That's all there is to it.

Ok I'll rephrase, hes a god dam amazing player and deserves the win 100%. I guess what Im saying is that I would have liked to see him play the better players in this tournament for example, MMA, Ryung Puma etc.

Those guys played like shit. You must not have been watching the games. Beating Lucky was a lot harder than it would have been beating those guys (two of which Lucky beat). On top of that ZvT is Stephano's best matchup. Your post is lousy.

Really? So you're saying Stephano would beat the players I mentioned cause he beat Lucky 4-0 and Lucky beat them. I like your theory, it 100% proven.

I didn't say that so don't put words in my mouth. Pathetic straw man tactic.

I said beating Lucky who was playing better than those guys is more notable than beating them. If those guys were actually worth beating then they would have made it to the finals but they didn't. Everyone got what they deserved.

I don't think so, at the end of the day Lucky's still a code A player. When people look back at the results on paper beating MMA Ryung etc would be more impressive.

Anyway I'm done here, congrats to Stephano, looking forward to MLG
