Standard LR thread rules apply. No caster bashing, no insulting the interviewers, no player bashing, no balance whining. Bans will be doled out to violators so don't shit up this thread with immature garbage.

Poor White Ra probably shouldn't have gone for FFE though

Good read by Slush.

he sent two probes to scout for it but got denied.

theres no point preparing for something you haven't scouted, its a waste of minerals if slush is playing normal.

he had to take a risk, either blindly put down two cannons and be behind or hope slush wasn't roach rushing him.

what other choice does he really have?

he saw speedling expand which noone does anymore, that should put him on alarm not to play FFE which is opposite of safe-play ... sigh

what? watch any DRG game, he always opens up speedling expand.

so everytime you are vs speedling expand=put up 4 cannons cause he MUST be roach rushing.

give me a break buddy

I like the fact that all these games have everything on the line... no losers bracket! Adds to the excitement that sometimes is missing at MLG!

Slush plays so risky, this game it was ok, but last game showed how unstable his ZvP is, gathering 1500/1500 resources leaves him open to such gigantic timing window.

Not in this case, he'd scouted the double expand for white-ra and knew he had a huge window where he would be under no pressure.

I said that this case was ok, but it seems it is his default ZvP, that was what I was commenting on.

he didn't 1-1-1 at all, get your facts straight.

LOL he did 1-1-1 2 out of 3 games played, it's a best of 5 not best of 7 like someone said, did you even watch the game, PUMA is the most disgusting player ever, he always throw 1-1-1 in hard situation.

NO HE DIDNT 1-1-1 IN THE NASL FINALS GODAMMNIT

He DID 1-1-1 on Gulch. The 1-1-1 is not an all-in push. It simply means going fast starport on 1 rax. He identified a situation where the push was likely to fail, and took a hidden second expansion.

We are talking about the 1/1/1 push here, genius, not banshee harrass. /facepalm

Terrans are not allowed to even make a banshee for harrass, this is 1-1-1 all-in IMBA (which is exactly what PuMa did in two games in the NASL finals). Both of the games ended up being macro games, no one at the time cried imbalance or OMG NOOB 1-1-1.

NO, Puma did not 1-1-1 ALL IN in the NASL Finals, what is wrong with everyone?

But he won!

He must have cheesed!

Don´t bother responding to those posts who didn´t even watch the games and yet cry. Apparently 1-1-1 can mean

1-Rax 1 Fact 1 Starport
to
1- rax- 1 CC 1 Bunker
and lets not forget
1- rax 1- tech lab 1- concussive shell

Its especially bafflig after Top said in an interview that protoss are now holding the 1-1-1 Better

+ Show Spoiler +
Question:questions from the fans, how to handle the 1-1-1 in TvP? any tactics for protoss?

TOP - usually tosses block 1-1-1 well... one thing is going robo builds, if you do that you can match the terran well, with the immmortal range buff, hide the immortal, then snipe the tank with the hidden immortal might be a better way

Huk also said he would hold the 1/1/1 and then got owned.

lol,

obviously 1-1-1 doesn't win all the time, so 1 or 2 protoss will get a couple of wins against it...
doesn't mean that it isn't still to hard to hold compared to the execution and skill needed.

wait people seem to think whitera was boned and want to report me for my ff comment?
he was behind but he wasn't in an unwinnable situation

he had enough stalkers and sentries + cannons in the third to hold off the mutas, all he had to do was ff the choke properly, in his natural he had 4+ cannons with a ton of stalkers that could have held off the impending ling/muta attack after getting ff'd out of the 3rd, he had blink nearly finished and he would have teched to either storms or colossi, depending on how many mutas there were
i don't know why you guys are getting angry with my comment, but he really did lose that game due to the forcefields

Grow up, this is what sports brings - emotional fans. Don't try to make this academic discussion for fuck's sake. Go on and visit online fans forums for soccer etc., people are emotional, whining about this and that. It's normal, and it is supposed to be like that, not an academic discussion.

Sorry people who complain about balance should be banned its very irritating when the other player clearly out played his opponent and played very well but gets no credit because supposedly his race is imbalanced. It was annoying when zergs did it (yes i'm zerg) and its annoying when terran/tosses do it.

i don't think that was all in. A hatch cancel would have been one but that was a good read by slush that he can cause enough economic damage and it worked out well for him. I think more zerg's should try and do heavy nydus attacks or roach ling pressure after ffe otherwise toss gets too much lead with faster nexus.

An all-in is an attack that requires you to do a large amount of damage in order to survive.

Slush cut like 12 drones... that's an all-in. He did a large amount of damage, so he came out ahead.

All-ins are fine tactics though... people just wield the word like it is something evil.

Lol. You confused "big timing attack" with "all-in." You have so many posts i PRAY you watch BW. Was the Marine-Medic-1 Tank timing an all in? You HAD to damage Zerg to stay even, but how many times did a Terran only slow down the third, not deal real damage, fall a bit behind, but expanded, got some workers and won later anyways?

All in means you either win RIGHT NOW or you lose. Slush did a really strong timing and as long as he did damage he was fine and could get even or ahead. WOAH MY GOD.

Again: ALL IN, means ALL IN. No followup, no later plan, just win now or lose. Pulling all your scvs = all-in'ing. Canceling your FE = all in. Building early Roaches and Lings to punish a greedy opening then dealing damage and droning+expanding = big push.

The JYP and Anypro 7 gate attacks are not all in but are almost identical in principle to what Slush did.

I agree with you. He might have lost the 2nd game anyways since slush had a macro lead. But he could have held off the lings MUCH better with 2 or 3 well-placed forcefields.
