I haven't seen Jim play, but judging from the other Chinese players, there skill lvl in SC2 isn't that high.

That's only my opinion however.

Im not gonna feel bad about not wanting to play IdrA in a long game when he's like 10x better at long game than short game.

Looking in your way I have to agree that in THIS situation its okish to do something like that I. I know you need to win at all cost.

I am just not sure about what this could result into. Let's say you win now and instead of trying to improving your macro to next tournament to beat Idra in a long game, you just try to improve that hardcore timing attack or that 3 bunker rush to work in an even better way.

He/other players will eventually be able to stop that and you will have nothing more to fall back to in your gameplay.

I am sorry if I sounded like a Idra fanboy but I really like both of you Jinro and I just wanted to see cool long epic games

Tournaments are not the time for practice...

Pretty sure Jim is winning our group.

Anyway, there's another big chinese tournament going on at the same time as this event I think, lots of players there (I would guess Super, Macsed, LoveCD, Loner etc are all there). Duno how to explain Xigua's poor results, I think hes good normally =/

China abit behind the international scene atm but give them some time

"Give them some time" is a ridiculous way to assess the situation. Three months ago Chinese players like XiaoT were playing great games against top players, and you could see it from the way they played their games - not just who they won against.

Today they are playing like shit.

Chinese players appear to be getting worse and worse as time goes on. Their scene is in serious trouble if that's the case.

That said, XiGua, YHY, and Way aren't the players we saw from three months ago.

It could be that they're the "new blood" that is getting pounded - rightfully - in their first international ventures.

If that could lead to improvements later down the line, then it's good pounding.

The bracket will be RANDOMLY generated based on the following rules, though:

1) Group first plays group second.
2) Players from the same group won't meet until the final.

This helps us avoid match fixing. Off the top of my head there are 9 different bracket options available with this rule set for playoffs.

Thanks for the correction

Yeah, streloks scv-production was a bit inconsistent, but nice awareness and with another 2-0 in the third game things are looking good for tomorrow.

They really should be showing at least one game of every player, otherwise it's a terribly badly organised schedule.

uhh... i don't think so, i have hardly seen any tournament where every player of group stages was showed on the stream.

With a larger field, that would be the case, but when they have two matches at a time and pools of four, they can show everyone once with some extra coverage of the big matchups.

Eh, I feel like the guy traveled all the way to China.. it's kind of a big deal. At least show ONE of his series..

I thought he lost 0-2 vs Elfi? Even in the event he 2-0's Idra and you 2-0 Elfi that would still give Elfi the H2H advantage with both @ 4-2 map score and yourself @ 4-3?

Hoping you beat Elfi whatever happens though, fighting!~

Well we still need to see Jim play! I mean, he 2-0'd Jinro, he can't be that bad lol

I will feel a bit bad if no one from China advances. Ya never like to see the home country get stomped.

100% cheese-less, as usual. LoveCD and Jim are amazing PvTers. LoveTT too.

But this is not the first we saw of Chinese players.

A few months ago they were doing great. Now it seems like they can't even micro their banshees, even though Chinese players are usually known for their amazing micro.
