Lol he played revival who is solid- he then beat three terrans who are decent with the same build over and over - balance issues aside,
Creator earned many fans today. What a beast

I agree that its too soon to say protoss is back, but this is a good sign for certain, so lets stop looking for reasons that toss is UP and be happy for once.

I would quite like to see Creator play a vT game where he gets pressured early. The double upgrade is very cool, but feels vulnerable for a decent period of time until that 2-2 kicks in

So basically everybody is bad and stupid except people on TL forums. Standard.
Lol its easy to say. But put yourself in alives position. You know creators build, so you prepared a nice build to end the game early, the ghost rush. U got your army up, and you scan and your like, shit can i do this? Your whole team hopes rest on you, you practised 10 hours everyday just to win this single match and you know you cannot fuck this attack up if u stim and move forward. With that amount of pressure, you decide to back off because you cannot bear the consequences if you lose the game. Thats where it all went wrong for alive. He was behind on upgrades, same amount of expansions, protoss had a more cost efficient army and ghosts EMP don't do that well against colossus as compared to archon zealot.

What about Tails? Gonna go through those games as well and point out mistakes that his opponents made?
Just be happy that protoss is doing better. I swear people cling on to their 'UP' cards for as long as they can and I don't know why.

It allows them to complain easier on ladder after they lose to something similar. You get more buffs in the future, etc. I just want to see how the patch plays out.

STOP WHINING! PROTOSS IS NOT UNDERPOWERED OK??? With that logic i could point at every code s ro32 group and say protoss is in fact up. The sample size from just a few games is too small to draw any conclusions.
Sage, JYP, Tails, Creators, even killer surprisingly played well.
I wouldn't say its all coincidence, what i think is protoss is undergoing at transition period, more to come from this under rated (currently) race

I am simply saying that this doesn't mean that Protoss suddently is a godly race. I am definitively happy for the Protoss Race, but at the same time we should not get ahead of ourselves, which the poster I originally quoted kinda did.

Yeah actually..... Nestea lost his main to dts when they walked past his detection ...... And then he still would have won had the stalkers not caught the drops before they landed.....
MVP just did an abusive all in on a really good map for it and then attacked too late. Look why did anyone even bring up balance? The numbers are clear.
I'm just happy creator showed a really nice pvt build and some great play. Both jyp and creator look fantastic so we can all look to the future for some new Protoss heros

Hurray, Protoss won a bunch of Bo1 series, they are soo powerful... not...!
The thing is, and I'm sure many people around here don't understand, is that playing in a team league it's NOT the same as an individual GSL. In team leagues, at best you might prepare a couple of strategies considering an opposing race and map, while the rest of the matches are mostly ladder type strategies. In individual league, you can prepare a handful of strategies for the same opponent. This being said, considering the state of the game, it's pretty "easy" for a Terran or Zerg player to find out what are the weaknesses of a Protoss player.
And btw, Protoss got 7 wins today, 5 of them against Code A level players (some are even Code B). Furthermore, Clide lost like he always does ("I got the advantage, let me throw it away"). So do us all a favor, and don't start saying Protoss is doing OK. The RNG of team leagues today determined a good day of the race, though the future is still dark unless things mix up a lot.
Blizzard is probably relieved this sort of thing happened. Though like I said, you can't take team leagues as a measure of racial balance. It's just not how it works.

whaaat?i was watching until JYP wiped off BBong then i had to go and i was so sure TSL had this in the bag O_O Creator is really proving to be a beast and i gotta really say today was protoss day ^_^

Double forge play is STILL so very unexplored and from all protoss PvT strategies I've ever seen this seems to have one of the highest win-%. The timing alive hit right before 2-2 would've crushed it on any other map. That's why I said "unexplored" - obviously it has to be played differently (colossus-timing-wise and council-timing-wise) on each map. But in the last few months korean protoss-players established the chargelot/archon metagame....which just seemed to have a terrible win-% I remember when tyler first started trying double forge builds, he would not go colossus at all but instead get either fast storm or a third the moment his 2/2 got done, and only then he teched to colossus. I think the strat if anything is even better with the immortal buff because you might even be able to delay colossi for a while and be fine vs 2-4 medivacs with just gateway+immortals. I think fast upgrades immortals might prove to be just that vs a fast medivac play (immortals with upgrades deal damage way too quickly to allow for any out-healing) - vs fast ghosts though I think going colossus is fine. I just don't understand why everyone backed away from double forge play so quickly. Tyler's opening is/was inefficient (3 gates + robo before expansion is too weak macro-wise, nobody does that anymore). But that aside, I always wondered why double forge went out of fashion without never seeming to get build order countered since you just don't go double forge after your observer confirms weird stuff. Creator showed in the last games that it - still..or again? - has great potential. Yeah beats me, i can't figure out why people like zealot/archon better either. I think it might just have been a big over-reaction to the archon buff. I am pretty sure it is because the korean metagame shifted to where Terrans went double starport (1 reactor one naked) off 2 base every time and Protoss felt like their colossus builds were no good at all. So they started to do all this zealot archon and fast ht stuff. But now every Terran goes fast ghost lol, and ghost counter archon/HT better than vikings counters Colossus. (Since ghosts good vs everything pretty much and the control war is actually easier to protect Colossus from vikings than to dodge emps I think.) Combine that with resurgence of 1-1-1 all-ins which punished all their "safe" middle of the road expands and PvT went completely to hell. I think that a LOT of stuff can just be figured out and maybe not everything is as imba as it seems. (Not saying I don't think 1-1-1 or ghosts are imba) Anyways thats my thoughts. This is ultimately the problem for protoss and the reason they are so bad vs terran. Protoss needs aoe damage to kill a terran army. That means HTs, colossi, or both. Ghosts shut HT down and vikings shut colossi down so long as the proper numbers of these are made in response. Protoss can do some neat stuff with upgrades, fancy tech switches, but if a game goes to long a terran will have ghosts and vikings together and win. Toss are getting by right now with timings like going HT and then instantly switching to colossi when they have no vikings. These are just a new wave of protoss timing attacks that will be figured out like the old ones IMO.

Well...the point I was making was that you can point out mistakes made by the loser in every game ever played.
But anyway yeah I'm hope this upward trend continues for toss since I enjoy watching them play. In fact most of my favourite players are protoss even though I've been playing mostly terran since release.

You cant judge balance by a few games but the thing is Creators strategy is actually good while most Protoss use stupid strats like zealot/archon.

holy fuck, went to the gym when creator went out, thinking this was over... get home and see the result... why did i leave

Protoss owning! finally! great job prime and TSL, this is not a day for a single team, this is a day for protosses to celebrate!
