FXOpen International KOTH #3 Saturday, Sep 03 3:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
With the announcement of the FXOpen e-Sports $20,000 Live KOTH, the FXOpen KOTH is sure to be one of the most competitive events on the calendar. This competition will see some of the best players across all three servers compete in a king of the hill style format where ladder points and $300 cash is up for grabs for players who accrue the most wins. Keep track of the standings by total wins and ladder points on the FXOpen KOTH Thread or the FXOpen e-Sports Forums.
This event takes place twice each weekend with both the KOTH Korea event on the KR server and KOTH International on the EU server. Each episode features exciting competitive players from GSL stars to underrated team practice heroes. Ladder points accrued for performing also contribute towards eventual offline events with much larger prizepools to be announced later in the year, and strong performances in the KOTH lead of course to potential invites to the $20,000 offline KOTH event.
All invited competitors will play in order against the winner of the previous match. After all competitors have played, the player standing undefeated at the end will recieve $100 (AU$), and the player with the longest win-streak of the night will recieve $200 (AU$). Ladder points for the event will also be awarded as below:
FXOpen is a forex trading company seeking to get more involved in the game they are passionate about - StarCraft 2. FXOpen currently sponsors MMA, drift car series and various other sporting events.
I always have to applaud FXO's initiative in not only bringing well-known players out, but also inviting lesser known but often equally good players. It's a really great opportunity to check the skill of up-in-comers against more established talent.
There are a bunch of players I'd love to see in these events, and every time, FXO invites one or two of them.
so excited for desrow to be invited to a big competition he deserves it!!! that guy has to get some recognition because he is doing an awesome job for the community on his stream!

Only sYz in the current lineup is unknown, but in many of our previous events (and our Korean KOTHs) we do have a fair share of the hidden gosus that the majority of the community doesn't get to see often.
Having said that, the next two invites are pretty much polar opposites!:
gogo daddy desrow! Strong showing in the last TL Open making it to the semis and taking a game off of idrA He's master on Korea now and if you watch his stream at all it's quite obvious he's getting a lot better.
TOD SO FUCKING GOOD ^_^ I remember he lost to Darkforce in IEM china qualifiers and he was really pissed at zerg balance, glad he could win now :D I can't decide who to root for in Grubby vs Tod tho T_T
How is the order of players decided? Maybe I don't understand the format but doesn't the last player have a greater chance to be the "last man standing" simply by being last on the list?

Stephano is so awesome. Best two zergs in EU upcoming!

As far as I know it's a random order. Yes the last player does have a good chance at getting the money for last player standing, but they also have no chance of winning the prize for longest streak, which happens to be a bigger pot. So it's a risk/reward trade.

It's random, but if there are clumps of race mirrors/teamkills it's moved around a little. The first player (Satiini for this week) is always the last man standing from the previous week. The final player has a better chance to win the $100, yes, but is unable to win $200 for most wins (and .'. will win less points).

Not the most one sided but quite one sided anyways :D
doesn't matter how the game went, this kid hates on me in every thread, if you personally take the time to flame someone everywhere you can, you definitely have some issues and should look on the bright side of life and get one while you're at it.
Okay guys,I am not a notorious hater, but Stephano was suspected for stream-cheating in the past (e.g. there was a Goody vs Stephano game where Stephano sent his Drone to scout and changed its direction mid-way without any reason to scout Goody on a four player map, went in, didn't scout the gas or anything, just went in and out again, acting like he did "scout him") and now in the KOTH cup so far Stephano paused every game (mostly like three minutes into the game).
Im just wondering if there's a way to quickly check if Stephano was watching streams (and check which one he was watching) while playing in the cup.

awww rly? if this is true, i'd be very sad :/ stephano showed some decent skill in quite a few tournaments...

Pausing every game is kinda weird but this is the first time I've seen him doing this. I don't see why stephano would stream cheat anyways he goes to a lot of lans and does well in all of them. Seriously doubt it.
I don't want acuse him, but it's soo suspicious, like "HolydaKing" said, he IS pausing literally in EVERY game so far. What the hell Stephano? A cat is coming on you EVERY time?
I just want it to be checked, if it's not too unconvenient.
Edit: By the way, DIMAGA said he is suspecting him of cheating aswell, I can link you to the interview if you want to (would have to find it first).
Edit2: He is a very good player, but it doesn't prevent you from giving you the extra edge, as sad as it may sound.
Lol. I don't know from where you pulled this "stephano has been suspected for stream cheating" thing but in France nobody ever suspected him of this. And trust me the french community is really keeping track of the stream-cheaters.... we already had quite a few. Anyway for a stream cheater he's quite good at lans amirite ?

Not that it would matter that he is good at LAN's. He has skill for sure but this fact alone would not stop anyone from stream cheating to get a bigger chance to earning money. And ya it's just super suspicious.

I'm not accusing Stephano for this, but good players COULD stream-cheat to just ensure a safe prize money :/

So you say there were quite a few cheaters already! I'm just saying, maybe someone could checkt that if it's not too unconvenient.
Guyz, if Stephano is a "stream cheater", do you really think he will paused every game to watch the stream or he just alt tab with no suspicious thing?
Ugh, please get a grip. If he wanted to cheat, don't you think there would be a better way than to pause the game and check the stream himself? Try and think things through..

There's nothing to cheat at cloud game when he paused, he has scouted everything and solved cloud's build (2 hellion - CC into marine tank push @8:20)
There's a lot of cheaters winning online cups in my (and not only my) opinion, but there's no way to make sure if a player is legit or not so they can do what they want. I don't know about Stephano, for sure pausing every online game or getting by pure luck the counter of your build order every time is suspicious, but again you can't accuse anybody since you can't get any proof.

Seriously he's paused every single game he's played in so far?

Weird, i never played opponent that i'd be sure he was cheating and most of the cups are won by progamers anyway so i don't think it's such a big deal There wouldn't be any problem if Stephano closed his door so the cat didn't disturb him :D

So a progamer can't cheat? Especially the ones that win everything online and then play much worse offline, on the ladder or don't go to offline tournaments for some reason are very suspicious. But again, no way to prove anything so making false accusations is very disrespectful.
Yes, acusing someone of cheating is really harsh and you want people to give facts, but I'm not capable of such things, but maybe there's someone in here (mods or so) who is capable of quickly checking if he was watching the stream or not.
I'm just saying that he was suspected earlier and DIMAGA said it himself, so... I'm just saying. (Yes I know DIMAGA cheated aswell, before someone brings this up, but that was a long time ago).
Here's the interview, jump to 05:55 for the part about Stephano
Cloud, you have already been accusing Stephano some time ago...
I acknowledge that you know what you are talking about, but you realize that he is a progamer like Nerchio says, and not some kind of unknown online wonder ?
The perfect world would have the stream broadcasted with a 1 minute delay, and no suspicions would remain I guess.
Stefano does the same thing in the LAN it does not cheat (the evidence with the results offline) is just a bad habit, his excuses are funny as the cat who disturbs him or cable stuck in the hair xD

Erm... 1 minute is literally worth sh*t. At LEAST five minutes, so you can't check if there was a hatchery-first build and stuff like that.
Rumors like that are really hurtful to the player, because just as it is impossible to prove, so it is impossible to disprove. But: was he cheating when he beat huk 2-0 at homestory? Was he cheating when he took a game off Puma at IEM? For me this is just bruised egos talking..

Well stephano won against (in live event) : WitheRa Huk Xlord Sase BratOK Jinro Sen etc
Do you realllllyyyyy think he would be so dumb as to pause, alt tab, check stream etc, where it would be FAAAARRRR less fishy to just have a 2nd monitor.
I guess the only way of knowing if someone is stream hacking or not is to have every gamer have a webcam filming him and the screen while recording ?...

Seriously. Stephano has won against the best players in the world live, and there's not a huge difference between his games live and his games online. His overlord placement is great and he sees his minimap better than almost anyone else. Is it cheating? I doubt it, since he'd have to be checking the stream every couple seconds to get the reaction time he has. In BW, that kind of map vision was normal for progamers, in Sc2, everyone has lost it, apparently.

Game 11 live!
[M]Stephano sYz
TT1? lol.
To be fair, TT1 has the longest win streak in any FXOpen KOTH with 7 wins, including beating CrunCher and SeleCT. I wouldn't see him beating Stephano either, but he's not the worst player in this KOTH by any stretch.

I'm not talkin abt his skills, since people can have different opinions... I posted it becuz of his posting at GSL Ro8 LR :/

I don't see why pausing is indicative of stream cheating. Using a second screen for the stream would be much more effective and unsuspicious. He doesn't have to change the stream for every game like streamcheaters on the ladder.
It's not like Stephano isn't able to beat all this players.
Lol at people thinking Stephano cheat... He is simply far better than almost every player in the EU scene, and when he is against very good players (such as LucifroN) you can see that he can lose online too. Btw he has not done "worse" offline because it's offline that he can really display his skills, beating Huk or SEn on lan for example, there aren't enough good players in online cups.
so given that his level of play online is consistent with his level of play offline, the only thing that supposedly indicates that he is stream cheating is that he pauses everygame?
Goody not doing early aggression is so not true. Shows how little they know about Goody, cause he does so many aggressive things from one base, like reaper bunker rushes vs Zerg, 1-1-1 elevator, marine+tank+medivac push vs toss etc and his early game unit control is actually outstanding.
Longest win streak (6!): [M]Stephano - $200 Last man standing: FXOpTiKzErO - $100
Thanks to everyone that watched, commented and enjoyed all of the games today! We will see you next week (Saturday, September 10th, 1800 CET) for the FXOpen International KOTH #5!

What a wonderfully disingenuous way to accuse Nerchio... I'm really surprised Nerchio didn't respond to this...
