A solid EU basis, some more NA, a handful of Koreans sprinkled in and three SEA/Asia players to round it all off. Looks really good to me. I guess we have a different understanding of what "healthy balance" means. I'm just disappointed that the Chinese players aren't being represented here (quite a few of whom are easily on the level of top Euros) - whether it's due to not applying, not being accepted, or through any other reason.

If not for the Korean dropouts, there'd be barely any NA players. Does it really matter? Is the US Open mainly players from the US? No, there's top players from everywhere and that's how it should be. This isn't the NAOSL; North American Only Star League, red4ce's comment that is repeatedly posted by multiple people is endlessly pointless and frustrating. Is Husky confirmed to be casting the whole season?

Group 3 is the most balanced but surely not the strongest. I feel you could pick 3 or 4 players from Group 1 who could easily take Group 3. I don't think any other than Idra could realistically take Group 1.

If NA players were better more of them would be in the ipl.

I have the exact same sentiments as you, which is why I posted it to point out the hypocrisy of people who claim to be interested in the development of NA e-sports when really all they wanted was no Koreans.

Games actually matter quite a damn bit because the higher you place in your division the better your chances of making the main bracket where you're guaranteed at least some money. As soon as I can afford to ill be getting an HD pass and enjoying it every time i watch just like last season. p.s. production got better throughout the last season so I'm hoping for better and better! Completely agree with this. It's great to see an esports tournament mimic what works for regular sports. GSL is great and all, but its awfully easy to miss a week and be totally left behind. NASL's format creates for a lot of great, meaningful games without making one bo3 make or break everything.

Also you must not of watched the show matches the production was way better, but haters gonna hate sadly. SC2 kinda does revolve around Korea. When one country wins just about any tournament they attend you can see the problem with them not attending. I wont watch Bronze leaguers slugging it out for $100 and this is just a less extreme version of that feeling, *shrug*.

![]() seems liek the groups were picked though, you can tell how their players are split accross the 5 groups pretty much in perfect sync without too many of one race in one and a lot of another in another, could be good that at elast we wont have a group of mirror matchups!!! Division1 probably the hardest to pick a certain top 2 to say, Followed by Division 2. Division 5 looks the easier of the 5 on paaper cant see Puma having any troubles at all.

Korea got the GSL/Gom-Stuff. All others are somewhere else. If Koreans decied to not fly around it's their fault. The games of foreigners are more than entertaining enough to watch them. Your missing out, not the NASL.

First, big names in the foreigner's scene - NASL has most of them. Second, the competition isn't that bad. With players like HuK, Sen, Puma, and most of the top EU pros, this is by no means a low-skill/minor leagues tournament. Third, a good spread of regions means that we get to see diverse play styles duking it out, along with potential regional rivalries. We don't have all the regions, but with Taiwan in the fray it's more than what most international tournaments have. Finally, I do want to see what NASL has fixed since last season, as that was their first, experimental run. They should have a more experienced setup this time around.

Why are the matches being played 2-3 weeks in advance? (Last season they were played 2 days in advance). Also why use the public accounts for the players? Anyone can see if the result was 2-1 or 2-0.
