I'm a huge MC fanboy, so it's too bad for me (i'd really like to see MC win a major tourney again v_v) but Puma really deserves it.

Who could challenge that title? Puzzle? Great potential, but not yet. Alicia? Definitely not, he QQs more than anyone. HongUn? Nope, survives with cheesy stuff. Genius? Maybe was in the early days, but no more. Hero? Very skilled but no results yet. Bottom line is, when we protoss players look for guidance, we look at MC. We don't have anyone else (yet). Therefore: if you (somewhat rightfully) claim that MC isn't as good as he once was and can't even take one game of one of the better but not very top terrans, then the question arises: if even MC slumps, then how much hope is there left for strong protoss play?

He said that MC is not as good as he had been. Which is true. Dude looked untouchable after beating July in his last GSL Championship. Since then his GSL results haven't been spectacular. Doesn't mean he is bad, just isn't as dominate as he was a few months ago.

Just thought that this should be reminded. Seriously, mc just played poorly too if you're being loigical. He lost a warp prism with 3 templar in at one point, the kingpin to the game. In game 2, he didnt switch techs once. In game 1, he had an obs, why didn;t he check if Puma was attacking again or if he was expanding? Just because a protoss looses doesn't mean there is imbalance...x.X;

EDIT: and first game of Puma vs MC, I think MC could have held it if he responded to the second push like the first, ie by being defensive and not blindly charging in. I think in his mind he had already won (in most of our minds probably) so he got a bit reckless.

First match: Second match: Third match: I would've uploaded match 2 and 3 earlier but it was already late in Finland so I decided to hit the sack instead. I hope you'll understand ![]()

+ Show Spoiler + Hmm, Game 1 he did 4 immortals, Game 3 he did a couple of phoenix VS the banshees. I like the immortal approach but then, the problem is the marines

In the first game, MC should've really scouted that his opponent was not opting for a 2nd base and hence shouldn't have pumped so many probes afterwards, rather than preparing for another attack. :-/

He won by doing a 4gate warp prism drop and then a warp prism DT drop expand. Special Tactics better than 1/1/1 build!!!

Bomber is pretty set on bio timing pushes / straight up macro. MVP occasionally does the "2 base hard contains with rine-bunkers, tanks, banshees, raven". MVP v MC in the Code S group stage is a good VOD for people to check out MVP's two base timing. I am guessing/surmising that MVP and bomber both know how effective the 1-1-1 is and are just too honourable to abuse it. Then again, MMA who is top level, used it against Huk and failed miserably ![]() actually MVP used that build but once and he expanded behind it. I don't remember seeing him ever doing an all-in but Bomber definitely uses that, i've seen him doing it at least 2 times. maybe one reason is that these guys are so good and confident in their code S status that they don't feel the need to do such builds that are considered cheap by many, where as lesser players in the up/downs etc do it all the time. Also not many protoss players are around at the later stages of the gsls so the pvt match up is not so common simply by statistics
