Rotterdam epic troll :D
The chair slowly turns around. You see his face, but it can't be. He's not supposed to be here. Not him. Not a Protoss. Not THAT Protoss. MC says, "Hi Greg, long time no see." You back slowly out of the booth. But you can't. It's already forcefielded.

Tbh i think stimming down that ramp was a mistake. I don't think Socke is screwing up that contain so badly very often. Puma got pretty lucky not to lose half of his army right there.

What? Puma made a mistake by choosing the opening he did. If Socke had been paying attention and got the FF down in time Puma would have been put even further behind than he already was.

Why is it ridiculous to do a German Interview with a German Player infront of a German Crowd in Germany? A English Interview would be rather strange imo

Because there is something called a 'stream' too? People are paying to watch a quality stream. It's an international tournament, e-sports is international. It's time for everyone to speak English in this kind of things.

Thank you. What I dont understand is that it is only German events that still does part of the event in a native language. Did you see any swedish interview with jinro/morrow/sjow infront of all the swedish nerds at dreamhack? No you didnt. E-sports is international, how will it grow even more if we dont use the most common language between nations?

It has become better though I have to say that. A couple of years ago you couldnt even find an english stream from ESL events.

Really? What about the 2011 European Battle.net Invitational?

Germany is very different to Sweden, Dreamhack is very different to gamescom

And please do not post misinformation, international ESL events have always had English commentary

It's going to be at the blizzard booth, not the esl one afaik. So probably no stream at all?

Gonna have to agree with this. What PuMa did was essentially the same thing as stimming up a Toss's ramp and hoping he doesn't forcefield in time. Ideally, Socke would have cut off a couple of Puma's units and whittled him down a bit, while Puma takes damage from the stim.

its not essentially the same, its much more difficult to contain compared to defend with FF, PuMa would've never tried that stim against MC or HuK, he knew Socke tends to be a bit sloppy from yesterday's games against Kas and took a calculated risk that gave him the win.

Well, I just meant it's the same concept. You're trying to traverse a ramp and can be easily stopped by a Protoss that reacts quickly enough, but if he doesn't, you're in a great position. I agree that it's more difficult to contain since the place you need to pay attention to is on the other side of the map.

it's definitly not the same thing. when you are on the high ground, you have more vision and have more reaction time. But controlling from the down the ramp you have maybe less then 0.25 secends.
It was more risky play by Socke than Puma

Yea, I wouldn't exactly call it luck, cause you're not gonna say Socke got unlucky for not ff'ing right.

He should have just pre-ff'ed the ramp and kept doing that, and he wouldn't really need to risk anything by looking away.

Pure luck? So it wasn't Socke's fault for not paying attention or pulling back?

luck [lʌk]
n
1. events that are beyond control and seem subject to chance; fortune

he had no control over socke's forcefield, this is luck.
he clearly made an arrogant move, high masters protosses (the ones i meet in ladder on europe) rarely miss such forcefields, it was simply luck, or socke thinking that his enemy would be more respectful of him.

Well with that logic pretty much everything in starcraft is luck. You have to take risks sometimes, sometimes it works out, mostly it wont but if you never do it you will never be great and if you do it all the time you will always be really bad.

Stop saying puma outclassed Socke, if socke reacted well, it would have been a big mistake from Puma to stim, lose some army in a ff choke.

If you don't have the multitask to contain the Terran like that, don't do that strategy. every other click should be on teh army with the f on the ramp in case of a stim down. Look at a fpvod of Bisu keeping his probe alive in PvZ and you will know the attention needed.

If you do this contain and you need to macro at home, you FF that ramp before you look away. It's 1 FF, but he was too greedy.

That was a coin flip pretty much, Socke was just doing some macro at his base, sending probes over, so he missed the stim + go which was pretty risky.

It's not a big deal. Stop throwing "outplayed" and "arrogant" around.

It was Socke's fault for not FF when macroing if he knew he couldnt respond quickly enough.

However, that was an excellent example of the fragility of toss at the highest level.
