100% agreed, although idk too much about Byun tbh. Great showing in TvT, rather weak in the 2 other matchups. If he had a strong 2nd matchup then I'd feel a bit better putting him there. Puma seems to have strong all-around matchups but not outstanding in anything. We're getting a rematch of Polt vs. MMA soon so that should be good to see how Polt can fare when MMA is in better condition and is better attuned to the metagame.
Then there's players who you know can hang up there like MKP and sC but are just all over the place from tournament to tournament.
You do realize
That Polt
Won the Super Tourney
Over MMA I know it wasn't his best showing but come the f on, tired of people calling out Polt as code B it's ridiculous, the guy is very very skilled
it's just too bad puma isn't in the GSL. you can win all the NASLs you want, but if you only end up only facing europeans and MC then there's no way you can put yourself into discussion as a tier 1 terran. Maybe once we see him in raleigh he'll finally be in code A
PuMa is a good player, but he's hardly on the same level as MVP or Bomber yet, imo, although that can be debated - he's not been in nearly enough televized matches to judge. For anyone citing PuMa's win over MC in NASL as proof of his 'best terran' skill level, you have to remember the circumstances of his win - MC was in terrible shape, barely managing to beat Sen (whom he steamrolled several times before), the maps they played were arguably very much T-favored, especially for the styles they play (Backwater Gulch, really?), and the last game came down to a CC first in TvP which is a ridiculous gamble and really more of an MC loss than PuMa win.
Not to say that PuMa is bad, but he's hardly got the accomplishments to deserve all the sudden praise he's been getting. Flash's practice partner in BW? Really? I mean there's so many people claiming he is the best Terran in the world, but that's such a ridiculous statement to make at this point.
edit: Moonglade beat HuK in a series in IEM, does that suddenly mean Moonglade is on same / better level?

As far as I heard Nerchio said that he would just be playing standard, since thats the strongest vs terran.
And I think I have heard several times that Puma has nerve issues when it comes to tournaments. When he plays well he seems insanely good, but he also underperformes like in groupstages yesterday. I think he is one of those guys that will be at the very top ones he becomes confident.

no one said code B, people just said tier 2 which I think is the only reasonable choice here. He beat MMA, but he got the best of build orders twice, and TvT has changed a lot since then. No way is anyone gonna put him in the same league as Bomber and MVP. I really don't know where to place MMA tbh, but I think his last win over nestea and beating DRG at MLG puts him into tier 1.5.

Yeah MLG is the best, the NASL finals were epic as well as far as atmosphere is concerned.
IEM has a bigger crowd, better stage and in general a better production-quality. but yes the atmosphere is bad BUT i can tell ya that when u are there the atmosphere is great.ive been there last year and now im shocked that the microphones cant really catch the sound of the crowd
It's not that the atmosphere is bad.
The atmosphere is incredible. I've never seen more nerds in one place in my life.
Fans here aren't as hyped for Starcraft (when compared to something like an MLG, or the Blizz invitation in Poland, for example) because its not a "pure Starcraft" audience.
Lots of people here for LoL, tons (literally thousands) here to play Diablo 3, and more than anything else, there's just a bajillion people here because they love playing video games.
The Starcraft purists are a bit in the minority.
It's not because of IEM. It's because of Gamescom - the biggest video game trade show in the world. And its not a bad thing... Its great exposure for the game. I can't tell you guys how many people have come up to me and asked about Starcraft only to have me send them to TL.
Not arguing with anything your saying about attitude etc but isn't PAX larger? Just curious I haven't looked at the numbers so you would know better.

You gotta remember he just flied from korea. First day he might have been a bit jetlagged and so on

to be honest pax is nothing compared to gamescom.visit the convention and you will get the biggest and loudest nerd-experience of your life. its bigger than e3 and Tokyo Games Show.
People should stop complaining and also comparing about the atmosphere. Gamescon is an expo and not just a big esports tourney. I guess most of the people complaining have never been to an expo and just dont notice that expos consists of more than one hall compared to a event like MLG or NASL where the focus of the audience is wether on one or maybe three games. Also there might be a difference between the microphone setup, so the atmosphere on the stream differs a lot.
PuMa is up there with MMA I think, I'd give him a massive chance of beating him head to head, and MMA's TvP has generally been poor, and was one of the only reasons he kept failing to make Code S, losing to the likes of HuK, Puzzle and I think Alicia? can't remember. I expect him to improve in that matchup soon or maybe he already has, as his incredible multitasking and harrass style should be suited to beating protoss :S Of course MMA has one of the very best TvZ's around, though.

gamescom 2010 had 254000 visitors, pax east 69000
Wow ok didnt know it was THAT large, thanks for the clarification.
Well people think polt is weaker than mma despite him stomping mma 4-0 in the super tournament finals is because polt really just looks weaker when he plays other games. MMA t v z is better than polt for sure. Polt t v p is better MMA t v t has appeared to be better until he choked in the ST finals. However, MMA has recovered and his t v t looks top notch recently. Polt just dosen't seem to be good enough at t v t (Despite beating mma, but that was months ago and he really did have some nice build orders which gave him the advantage), seeing how he got manhandled by bomber/mvp in the games he played against them.
Mhmm, i just checked Brackets, and if Puma would win with Mana yday, he would play with MC in semis. Pretty easy math, he los with Mana to avoid MC in semis, YES ?

You do know that it was 1st ever Nerchio match on main stage ? Nerves can get to everyone even the best.
I hope in his next big tournament Nerchio will do much better since he wont be on same stress level.
He played Blizzcon in Poland on the main stage (unless you meant it was his first at the IEM event, in which case, that's true). Either way, Nerchio plays pretty terribly against Koreans (though most people do), I think he's only ever won against Cezanne - but has been swept by every Non-Zerg Korean he's faced (MKP, Vines, Puma, Hwangsin, maybe a couple others).

Don't think so, MaNa looked very solid.
Puma looked to feel really bad yesterday afternoon and even skipped the interview after the game so maybe he wasn't 100% but don´t think he would drop the games to avoid MC.
