SC2 is a freaking random game imho... you see players going 10-0 in the previous tournament -- Sase and Huk in DH -- going 0-6 in this one... and it's not like they are in bad shape or anything... Sase just got second place in a korean tournament a few days ago losing to MKP in the finals. So fanboys, stop making a big deal out of individual results or irrelevant code X labels. Puma can beat the shit out of MMA or Bomber anytime, and I am not even a Puma fan. Thing is the following. Sure thing, Puma is skilled, he's very very good and he definitely CAN beat MMA or bomber, however, Code X label is by no means irrelevant. Code X label means a high skill level sustained over a period of time. When a player like DRG can't make it into code A it says that while at his best he's a beast, he cannot sustain a high level play for extended periods of time. This probably means that if Puma and Bomber played a Bo15 or sth ridiculously long like that, bomber would win, because if Puma can't make it into the GSL and STAY in it, it means he's not consistent enough, and consistency is an important part of skill. I agree in large part but I think that's too extreme. At the highest levels of SC2, where everyone is really good at the game, then you need to be more than just skilled, you need to get lucky. For example if you peaked in the early seasons, it's not inconceivable to keep staying in Code X even if there are more talented people knocking on the door. Look at the Fruitdealer or Kyrix, those guys look terrible when they actually play and they can stay in the Code by winning a Bo3 once a month?
Obviously the system to protect the popular/talented players fans want to see but sometimes it can be too forgiving and too rigid to change.
tl;dr In such a young and volatile game you need to be both good and get lucky to have success in SC2. Puma not making it into Code X is not damning evidence that he's inconsistent, it more likely shows how freaking hard it is Code B is.

For me it's simple, if you wanna be called one of the best, you have to play with the best. In this case Code S or at least Code A. I don't think MMA, Polt, MVP or Bomber will lose a map to Stephano or a game to MaNa (I assume PuMa didn't lose on purpose). If you can't get to the top and stay there, I won't consider you "top player". But it doesn't mean that I don't have respect for PuMa and his skills, imo he hasn't proved yet to be a top player and I'd love to see him do that. I don't doubt that he can compete at a high level but I'm not convienced that he deserves the hype he has. I honestly think that some less known players (like Taeja) are better atm. I hope we will se MaNa - PuMa final
They all lose games pal, even the best.. MVP lost a clutch game in the GSTL against QxC... you wouldn't think MMA or Puma would lose to QxC, unless MVP did lose on purpose... blah blah blah..

There will be 2 more best of 5s today.
MC vs Select and Mana vs MoonGlade. Both on the side stage, and the first should be starting within the next 20 minutes or so.

Yeah, let's completely forget about MaNa. Also, Stephano won the first game vs PuMa making it 2 - 1. Nice post though.

Stephano Stomped Puma in the first map of their game.
The second game he was unlucky because he made single a mistake that cost him the game when he was in a great position.
Dont know what you were watching.

Who's that guy next to Naruto?

Wait, what? Code S turnover rate is high? Are you high yourself? The turnover rate in Code S is INCREDIBLY low, if you followed GSL for any period of time you'd know most of Code S players back from open seasons are still around.
