His TvT and TvP is much more impressive. A lot of Koreans have said they've been impressed by Thorzain's play. Unfortunately he's matched up with a Zerg in code A. No prep, jet lag and zerg opponent in code A. That's going to be hard.

i hate the fact that thors do not counter mutas in big number as they are supposed to be...

mrbitter is critizing thorzain for not being aggressive, but how can we move out of his base when the z is playing mass muta??

Not sure what he's referring to, but if at say, 12:00, Tz moves out to the xel'naga tower with tanks and marines, Ret is forced to invest his 300 gas that he has into banelings instead of 3 mutas. That's how I see it, anyway.

It's tough as f, but if you looked at Ret's resources, he was consistently staying below 50 gas the whole game.

thorzain needs to play his game, I think he's a bit afraid of ret, so he's much more in a defensive mode
I'll bite this hand that feeds me, and take it for my own!

You know, I usually feel bad when a Zerg loses to early aggression or some sort of timing, but I really hope that happens to Ret every single game. Just to reinforce the fact that his playstyle is in no way safe.

You're not meant to play 100% safe at top level anyway. I like that Ret is cutting so many corners and playing it a lot like Brood War.

Ret gets a lot of edge with his ling micro and perfect map control he can afford to be skimpy in defense. Not saying that he will always win and defend everything, but it's still the right direction to pursue in your play.

Very true - apart from the awful map choice (close positions on shattered - wtf?)

But it's definitely a very well run tournament with cool games

If Ret keeps his game up, we'll see a rematch of the TSL 3 finals.

His TvP is top notch, and his TvT is also quite good, don't count him out before he even gets there

His first match is vs a Zerg (YugiOh)

His second (if he makes it that far) is vs the winner of MKP and Hack.

Hmm, well hopefully he can raise his TvZ up to his TvP level by then lol

I really want Thorzain and Nani to succeed in Korea, more foreigners in GSL makes it more enjoyable imo, I like watching koreans and high level games, but it's nice to see some white guys in there

Dreamhack Invitational is comparable to this, bot not DHS/DHW/Assembly. Note even close.

Please tell me ): . Rarely I have won games against that many mutas.

You need to push pressure on the Zerg and prevent him from dumping all his gas into Mutas. Ret I think didn't make a single unit that required gas except Mutas until he prepared for the final push.

He, like Naniwa has gone to Korea to improve. Not win Code A. I think their performance in the first Code A season is irrelevant to them. It's the ones after that will be more important and whether they have improved. I think i read Naniwa specifically say this in an interview somewhere too.
