As part of the $1200 Neolution SEA Nation Wars we will see Australia take on Taiwan in round one of the group stage of the competition. With Australia being the dominant force on the SEA server, Taiwan having their own televised league and players from both countries playing at a high international level this match should be one of the highlights of the entire tournament. This clash between Asia and Oceania deserves some attention and I hope to see a lot of viewers tune in to kick off the SEA Nation War season!
The rosters feature some of the best talent from Australia including players such as mOOnGLaDe, Azz, tgun and YoonYJ up against some Taiwan superstars and TeSL ace players in Sen and SoftBall. The format is Best-of-Three, losers picking the maps.
Australia and Taiwan share a group with New Zealand and the Philippines, while Group A sees China, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia fight for a place in the elimination rounds. See the links below to follow the rest of the tournament as many of the matches will be cast live!
|
Wow this will be a very interesting tournament. It will be interesting to see two servers which don't get as much recognition as the others battle it out.
|
This is gonna be sick! Taiwan fighting!!
|
I love how it's just a bunch of randoms (except Moonglade) with an absolute beast (Sen) thrown in. xD
Go go Australia! I'm just glad it isn't GSTL format or Sen would all-kill. ^^
Also, I saw deth at a tournament once, so just for that reason I hope he wins his game. =P

awesome! gl to australia!

Azz used to be on VT gaming, deth and EdgE are consistently in GM on NA, YoonYJ has taken a lot of games off Korean pros in various tournaments!
And of course anyone following the TeSL will recognise almost all of the names on the TW roster - they sent out a very strong team based on TeSL form!

I expect upset. Luway over Moonglade.

Damn, well, I look forward to seeing how they do. xD
I should probably follow the SEA scene more, living there and all. >.>

Ausie Ausie Ausie!!!!
This should be pretty good, Australia is starting to get some great players coming up and I'm really looking forward to see them kick some ass in this.

GLaDe against a Protoss, that makes me .
What makes me sadder is that even though I knew that iaguz was a substitute, I still hoped he'd be playing...
EDIT: and he's playing a girl! Oh no, Del was right, GLaDe will need Kelly reminding him to not be courteous here...
|
GLaDe vs Protoss is generally pretty good from what I've seen. Glade has an exceptional mental list of timings and subtle reads and ques he takes from ZvP and usually turns them into an 8,000 food advantage midgame. And last time I saw Luway play (admittedly like 6 months ago, haha) she researched +1 air attack for her observers and died to 2 of Oxygens Ravens.
Oh, and that's iM`YoonYJ, not aLt. He's technically in aLt but it's sort of a stretch, lol, should really be iM`.
and yeah, we'll see if anyone decides not to show, eh bobble?
|
hmm, well, you'd know better than me man, but I've always liked GLaDe's style against T and Z more than P. But he's still boss, so I'm not expecting him to lose at all.
But yeah iaguz, hope you get to play man, would be great to see.
|
Glades style against T consists of one of two things. The problem is that he's so good at doing them and SEA terrans suck at playing against them so he wins like 80% of the time.
1) Many Mutalisks and ignoring infestors and hive tech 2) Really coinflippy openings focusing on large roach or bane aggression.
Having lost about 80 times to him recently I think I know what to do now. Christ I hope he hasn't switched up his style recently ><
His ZvP is fucking tight though.
|
Australia will clean sweep Taiwan, Carn the Aussies! Make us proud!

I doubt it. Why change up a style that you have down already? I love the muta control he has when he's massing up the banes and lings, pretty damn good.
But it has been a little while since I've seen him play, good to hear is ZvP is great now!

Imagine a mOOnGLaDe with perfect macro!

SEn can't make it and is replaced by GamaiaSlam, Australia replaced Azz, who had practiced to snipe that matchup specifically, with aLtiaguz in response.

Isn't wulongStorM one of the best players in Taiwan? He should play!

I guarantee you will see him feature in one of the later group stage games against the Philippines or New Zealand n_n

Softball 2-0, Taiwan wins 3-2. Time for dudes to disown shit.

wp by Taiwan, taking down Aus.
Disappointing play from some of the Aus players, chokes in abundance.

If this is the GSTL format, Sen probably could've all killed Aus....

Fuck yea Taiwan's pro league is paying off. Slowly but surely, we still need good Zerg players in the scene other than Sen.
|
Lol at the English casters completely underestimating Taiwan (especially luway).
Agree with the above poster. Sen should take some young Taiwanese Zergs under his wing when he goes back.
|
i definitely expected luway to win, especially after playing vs her and seeing the caliber she was at. ive been following some of TeSL and HRU/softball are probably their best players.. not including SEn. remember that luway also beat julyzerg.

TESL players are at very close level, it's really hard to decide which is the best. HRU/softball are good, but they are not as dominating as Sen. There are also some good players they are not known in the roster, like SpderDS and TYjetsNifi. DS is the mvp of last season and Nifi has the highest win rate among the league protoss players.
|
we expected to smash because all our previous experiences playing against Taiwan had us winning and them playing bad. Except Sen of course.
But that was a long time ago. They improved. A lot.
|
Did Taiwan win without Sen and Softball? Or are their Asian handles different?
|
Softball played as TtApolloBALL. Sen did not play, he was replaced by GamaniaSLAM and Azz was replaced by me. I won 2-1

Agree with the above poster. Sen should take some young Taiwanese Zergs under his wing when he goes back. It's easy to underestimate a server your clan won the last teamleague in. Pretty sure we've always said TW was an easy top 3 contender anyways, so I think you might be misconstruing things.
But yeah you're right, I definitely didn't expect luway to win so outright (or Glade to snarf so hard those games).
