This has been a tournament that tells you how much SC2 evolved. The foreigners are really just living Fossils

That's exactly how I feel watching these games. It seems like the foreigners are still using builds from months ago, and their overall style is so predictable and passive that the Korean players can do basically whatever they want and win, e.g., Moon's 150 banelings.

No they didn't. That was one reason why Strelok was unable to get his Visa in time... He couldn't secure the funds fast enough

Um.. yeah they all got a $500 dollar stipend, plus the opportunity to play for very good money. The upside of single elimination is that a weaker player COULD have knocked out a better player and if you did that 2 rounds in a row thats $5000, vs. Double Elimination where you'd have to win much more.

There are 2 sides to everything.

Also, Strelok knew the deal when he signed up... his own fault if he couldn't have afforded to make it work. But I never heard that the money part was the problem for him though, I think you just made that up.

I dont get why everyone is such a whiny suzy today? Honestly give em a break. Dreamhack has years of experience and GSL is korean (YES ITS BOUND TO SUCCEED BASED ON RACE).

Compare NASL with MLG's first try. Seriously its not even close, i still remember the 2 hour breaks between EVERY game or how we had to watch replays of a live event. MLG's 2nd try was just as bad with us watching freaking eagles over SC2 matches and some moose tripping over the cables every half hour.

One hour break because they are two hours behind schedule. Stay tuned.

Should have known better than to have NASL run an event properly. Seriously how have the people who keep fucking up over and over not been fired?

Most of the people are getting autographs and im assuming the rest went out to eat. Its a pretty full house though.

this nasl event so far has actually been horrid. im not whining, im still gonna watch it but this is just my opinion

-bad production/quality etc. i dont care if its their first time, at the end of the day, its still bad
-boring games that are all one sided (ive only seen squirtle/sheth, mon/hasuobs/, ret/puma, no morrow/july)
-quality of the stream isnt that great. i know i could pay for a better quality, but look at the other events, mlg, dream hack, homestory, from what i remember im pretty sure they were all atleast 480p when they were free
-brb 2 5 min games with an hour break until the next series
-breaks in between games are just way too long
-bo3 is just plain stupid for a final 16. should be bo5, and finals bo7.

nothing wrong with the casting though everyones doing a great job in terms of casting.

select is technically not a korean, his ethnicity is korean but he does not train with them he trains on NA server and is on a foreign team (dignitas) I would hardly consider him korean as a player. The amount of whiners on the stream is ridiculous obviously the event is not going to be perfect their first time ever doing a live event especially on the first day, MLG isn't even perfect and they've been doing it for what...6 years ? I'm sure the next two days will have fantastic production value though. Nasl ftw.

um.. so you consider HuK Korean?

Seconded, the issue was never money. The NASL staff even petitioned and had someone high up from the state of california try to hurry the visa along, but to no avail.

yeah same for me.

and i'm also just creating a few poorly edited pics (see this thread) and having a laugh at what people are writing here.
it's kinda cool. i'm glad that TL is as active and funny as it is, otherwise this event would really suck.
