Sums it up for today i guess.

Jinro, you're amazing. Not only do you play your heart out in one of the toughest SC2 tourneys on the planet, but then you come back to the LR thread and think you have to give your fans a reason for your loss. Don't take the loss so hard man, we still believe in you and will root for you next time around. You've still accomplished something in the GSL that no other foreigner has yet to match or exceed. You're a great player, and sometimes players have slumps.

it was very sloppy all around game. hellion control, depot block, and never ever spotting the drops .. he lost all the small battles and very weak mentally.

by quickly running through playXP some of his fans are quite upset how he performed so poorly

Jinro's only win in GSL since FEBRUARY 24TH is in first round of CODE A against a 16 year old kid who isn't even on a pro-sc2 team. Time to go home jinro, you can't compete with koreans.

What the crap dude. you must a pretty damn pessimistic and sorrowful looking person in real life. So you just give up when you dont succeed? You have to keep trying and trying, you need to go read some inspirational book or something.

I think it's time to get realistic though, as SC2 has entered a stage where I feel Jinro is so far behind (Just look at his performance at Dreamhack for instance). A slump should be just that; A slump. Jinro has only won over any of the big guns by doing some crazy "I hope he doesnt see this"-strats (San for instance). His macro is bad and multitasking combined (or resulting in) horrible executions. Seeing how one of the major flaws of his gameplay is in fact gamebreaking for him makes me think he should start re-evaluating his future, as he isn't performing neither inside or outside of Korea as the months of slumping piles up..

TL;DR Stop doing fancy shit and start working on flaws or get real.

It's important to note that playing a few bad games is pretty common in the GSL for even the best players.

Remember how awesome MMA was playing at MLG and throughout most of the super tournament? Then remember how he suddenly looked like a player of much lower skiller in the finals vs. Polt??

The level of play these guys are on is so high that any little thing that impedes ones concentration can lead to a mistake, which can make the player lose confidence and concentration and fall into a nasty downward spiral. MKP once said that what he admired most about MVP was his mental toughness. To me, I think that's the ability some people have to just mentally block out any negativity so that they can fully concentrate on the task at hand.

Lots of great SC2 players suffer from nervousness on the big stage when the stakes are high -- I find it really annoying when people want to look at a couple of games they watch of a player and instantly conclude skill level based upon it.

3gate expo-->pressure first game, he lost his hatch and did a counter that didn't do too much damage, from there he was pretty behind but stuck with it.

game2- he was macroing up onto 3 bases when toss did an 8 gate +2 blink stalker timing, sheth held on for a while but ended up losing a few overlords which ended up costing him the game because he couldn't reinforce during the engagement.

all in all he played well given the nerves, just a few small mistakes in both games cost him. i have faith he could've taken the series though.

Unfortunately, I've noticed for some time that Jinro's mechanics have fallen behind his peers. He is no longer playing at a Code S level and will struggle to maintain his Code A spot at this stage. To improve, there's no shortcut but simply a whole lot of hard work and focus. In his interview after the previous round, he did mention about focus during practice.

However, I have no doubt that if he wants it badly enough, he can do it. JINRO FIGHTING!!!!

It was the now surprisingly standard make many roach vs better upgraded mass blink stalkers loss.

This is factually incorrect. It was a "misrally and lose 2k worth of overlords so I'm supply blocked and can't spend 1k+ minerals/1k+ gas and narrowly lose because I can't reinforce" loss.

The adage is that the player who commits fewer mistakes and is mentally tougher will often prevail. The first 3-4 seasons of GSL were the foregrounds of developing the game in terms of strategy and depth. Now few months later its less emphasis on strategy and tactics and more so on multi-tasking and the ability on to face pressure. I mean everyone was railing on Huk during his stay in Korea and after dedication to 8-hour work ethic and new found confidence he won DH and HFS.

Jinro is already very good on build order and strategy, but he needs to shore up on multitasking and minimizing mistakes in reactionary situations. Turn your weaknesses into your strength.

i know we are sad that lots of our idols like boxer, jinro, mma, mkp, FD & etc falling one by one. But in a larger picture, we should be happy that sc2 is becoming more n more competitive as lots of new & good players are coming in. Happy, Yoda, Puzzle, DRG & asd are all doing very well.

We may have a SC2 esport scene as big as BW soon. god bless
