Sadly it seems I have to put this up yet again. Any of the following types of posts will be met with immediate bans:

Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining/Off topic arguing.

Stick to the games and enjoy the event and its free services and coverage.

No offense but that's a pretty stupid comment from Torch. Interacting with the community doesn't make you a worse gamer by any means. Korean dominance has more do to with the (politically incorrect) fact that the average intelligence is higher in Korea and in East Asia in general, and that is also the reason China is pumping out millions of engineers and scientists, and Japan is a leader in hi-tech industries.

And that's a big part of the reason why we see Koreans dominating these competitions.

I'm really interested to see greenlanders play starcraft.

So you are saying that we won't have any African SC2 Programmers due to they average IQ being so low.

I think they'd sue Blizzard for racial discrimination if that were true.

He 2-0'ed Moon then Moon 2-0'ed Nani.

What are you implying?

That he's actually playing like a top foreigner at the moment.

Just out of curiosity, if Huk hypothetically won, would people count him as a foreign player or a Korean player?

There's so much lamenting here over Korean dominance, yet Huk is not out yet, and he's proven that he can definitely keep up with Korean players. He did beat MMA, after all.

It demonstrates beyond all doubt that the only way to be top level in this game is to train in Korea.

I think that's already been proven with MLG and now Dreamhack. However, I would make the distinction that it's not necessarily training IN Korea so much as training LIKE Korea. I believe that if there were pro houses dedicated to practicing like a full time job foreigners would be just as good. In my opinion, it is the practice system, not the location that is the Koreans' strength.

it does , since pros are not really caring about improving their games as much as improving their images

IQ is an extremely controversial measurement in the psychological community and is not widely accepted as a true measure of intelligence. But thanks for demonstrating why your country isn't purple in this diagram!

That's the politically correct explanation yes, but I don't think it's a good explanation.

Uh, why? It's a variable that separates Korea from the rest of the world, which high IQ scores are not. Is Japan dominating? No. Is China dominating? No.

Really it seems obvious to me that Koreans are better because more of them practice harder. Why is this even a debate?

A re-match between huk and moon would be awesome, especially after hwo they had awesome matches between each other in the group stage.

And I think torch's comment was misunderstood..he said some people are spending too much time doing shows and other such things instead of practicing hands on. He did not say interacting with teh community is bad.

And please dont link iq and sc2..and generalize the population traits. lol and iq itself is a pretty debatable method of measuring something as complex as intelligence.

What do you say to that kind of argument? I guess nothing would be the best choice.

Let me count the number of world class asian chess players really quick... oh, that didn't take long. Maybe culture has a little to do with it in the end, but I don't know, my IQ is only western european.
