He 2-0'ed Moon then Moon 2-0'ed Nani.

What are you implying?

He is saying that Moon is the best player in the world, because Moon has beaten Nani, Nani has beaten Jinro, Jinro has beaten MC and MC has beaten everyone in the world, thus Moon is the best player in the world.

It's that simple, right?!

I'm saying Moon owns white dudes, unless the specified white dude has been on Korean soil.

so thats why asia has the highest iq ;s?

No offense but that's a pretty stupid comment from Torch. Interacting with the community doesn't make you a worse gamer by any means. Korean dominance has more do to with the (politically incorrect) fact that the average intelligence is higher in Korea and in East Asia in general, and that is also the reason China is pumping out millions of engineers and scientists, and Japan is a leader in hi-tech industries.

And that's a big part of the reason why we see Koreans dominating these competitions.

I'm really interested to see greenlanders play starcraft.

The picture made its rounds on reddit a few weeks ago, the majority pointed out it's inaccuracy: Look at North Korea.

That is incorrect. The majority tried to come up with explanations why this would be inaccurate, but no criticism would stick. Richard Lynn has spend whole books countering the arguments you are referring to, and he has done so well. Regarding the North Korean datapoint - it is based on a (relatively small) number of North Korean refugees in South Korea. Many other countries' datapoints are also based on small sample sizes. This is, however, irrelevant. Many studies have found the same broader pattern to be true, regardless of small variations in average IQ as a result of small sample size in some datapoints.

This man speaks the truth, but I expect waves and waves of hate responses to this. This is Teamliquid after all, a foreign SC2 website.. people can't handle the truth, you know D:

I'd guess Teamliquid would come off deep red in those charts... lmao

So black people are all good at soccer because they have better physical abilities? Go look the winners of the world cup. Not a single african country ever won it. The best player ever was white.

Maybe it has to do with the level of investment you put in such a thing? Like, dunno, that's why europe and south america have always been dominating in soccer even if they're dumber than chinese and slower than africans.

Average intelligence is completely unimportant here. We're dealing not with the average people here. All of the pros are outliers. I'd say it has much more due to their work ethic and the number of people allowed to play professionally (100 pro players will come up with more meta advancements than 10).

Yeeah...I didn't want to derail even further but this. IQ is a measure of mental agility and not intelligence (if I remember rightly), there are dozens of factors that determine intelligence that are not accounted for. Besides, condensing something so complex into a 3 or 2 digit number is mildly absurd.

The irony is calling Torch's explanation 'stupid' when it's much simpler and more likely than some bollocks based on average national IQ...

this is not a valid argument. IQ-tests are more or less irrelevant, and i want a source for that picture. iq correlates fine with amount of education and a very large portion of china gets very little of it at a poor quality

the amount of engineers from for example china is fairly low compared to their total population

What do you say to that kind of argument? I guess nothing would be the best choice.

Let me count the number of world class asian chess players really quick... oh, that didn't take long. Maybe culture has a little to do with it in the end, but I don't know, my IQ is only western european.
What about Shogi? That's like a more complicated version of chess with capturable pieces included and more board room...
