Good job. That explains why the Protoss are on top all over the place. Big advantage in PvT at this tournament (could just simply be where the metagame is at the moment).

Or it could be down to the two best Protoss (MC, Naniwa) having played 10 games and the two best Terran (Bomber, Thorzain) having played 2 games.

tbf still got white-ra and huk games to go which should bump toss stats some more.

There just aren't a lot of top tier terrans at DH, whereas almost all the top tier tosses are there.

In general Europe just have a much higher percentage of their top players are Protoss compared with Korea. If you think of the best EU players as (In no order):

Naniwa
Thorzain
Hasu Obs
Socke
Kas
White Ra
Dimaga
Morrow
Mana
Ret

I guess people will argue that list but basically I'd say about 40% of the European players capable of getting out of the group stages in a tournament like Dreamhack are Protoss players, where as in Korea there's one top level Protoss in MC, a few decent ones in Alicia, Huk, San, Hongun and Anypro but only really MC capable of winning anything. As opposed to 3/4 Zergs and about 10 Terrans.

It's nothing to do with balance, EU Players, especially WC3 players like Protoss. Most Koreans don't because Protoss has the least legends in Brood War so people were more likely to pick Terran or Zerg.

MKP would've probably rolled through DH with one hand tied behind his back. But then again Bomber can probably do that too.

Not really, MKP has been losing alot lately, lost in the Stars war tournament, like first round of lg 3d tourney, didn't get to the finals either

lol? how can that be a fact? explain plz. both equals +1 but Idra has one more win

Did you read "better win %"? Idra won a game more, but also lost a game more.

Do the math, 6:5 is better than 7:6 - not that it should matter tho, Idra won the direct confrontation and that should actually count if both are +1. Everything else would be stupid.

Actually the result of the match between those two should be the first deciding factor imo, because it's not a league, where the score difference tells us a lot more due to the fact that they played a lot more games.

Stop acting like idiots all of you.
Since they have the same amount of points (9) and the same "goal" difference (+1) Idra advances due to beating Grubby in their match up.
Dont you people watch any professional sport at all, thats how it works in football or anything else.

Huh ??? that's exactly what he said, Idra advances since he won the direct confrontation. He was just saying that Grubby's ratio was better than Idra's one, which is 100% right.

Or you could just read the damn rules. http://master.dreamhack.se/DHS11/files/2011/06/DHS11_SC2_RULES.pdf

It's also pretty obvious why a 7:6 player losing a spot to a 6:5 player would be a truly stupid way of doing tie-breaks. Read this closely: "Losing 0-2 is more valuable than losing 1-2". If you want a tournament that works that way, you're not going to have another, because that's a really stupid way of doing it.

Why should I read your garbage logic closely? It is in no way relevant to what I posted.

And if you start to read carefully you would suddenly realize that I never doubted the official rules in the way you describe nor do I want Grubby to advance - quite the contrary.

@Maenander
Exactly what I think for small groups in tournaments like this, only for leagues it should be different imo.

Grubby isn't advancing guys.

The auto-sort in the standings on that page gives priority to alphabetical order. G is before I. It's just a bug or lazyness. Idra has advanced, and that's all there is to it.

It wasn't meant to be an exhaustive or definative list, that wasn't the point read the post. Also Cloud is definitely not a top 10 EU player and Kas is on the list.
