Using your logic, if we had a hypothetical player that won every single championship, and every single match he ever played, and then called him a "God", we would be overrating him because we're basing this statement on the fact that he always wins. How does that even make sense? What standards must one live up to before one can be called amazing before you feel it's overrating? Actually, there is and he is named Flash or Ultimate Weapon.
I suggest you go tie a rock around your neck and jump off a bridge. This is SC2 section, not BW you clown no one cares about flash.

Why is everyone so shocked MC lost? MC was surely the favorite, but did everyone forget how good Alicia is? This is the same guy that sent MVP to code A.

MMA and Losira are easily at MKP's level. MMA barely lost 2-1 to MKP in the up and downs, if that's any indication that they're relatively close. MKP even mentioned in his interview that MMA is a toughie. The scene is hugely competitive and new players are always infiltrating the scene, don't be surprised that previously successful players are being outplayed.
MarineKing made it to the finals a month ago with much tougher opponents than Losira. MMA and Losira are nowhere near MarineKing's level. MMA can't even get into Code S and just rides on his fame from bo1's which don't mean anything at all.
The loss wasn't barely by the way. MarineKing made a huge mistake that I doubt he'll ever make again otherwise it would've looked like complete annihilation.
I like MMA, but the only one who comes close to MVP/MKP is Bomber.

Didn't get to watch the games today, so I had to resort to seeing the results in the OP. I have to say, today was a sad day for me since two of my favorite players, Alicia and MC, had to eliminate each other. While I'm happy for Alicia, I'm deeply saddened by MC's loss. It's sad that he had to go out so early, I was confident that he could go all the way and win another one. Oh well. let's go Alicia, hope you make it far.

Im sorry but you clearly do not understand PvP. Keeping one red zealot in a choke towards the mineral line there IS important since it meant the zealots following that zealot could be attacked by Alicia's zealots and sentries. It also meant those zealots were not killing anywhere near as many probes as they could have been. If the immortal came out and Alicia didnt have as many units then MC could have won because one immortal while good dies pretty quickly to 5 stalkers. Forcefielding 3 stalkers in a crack at the bottom of the ramp with the last forcefield is really important too.
In the second game leaving a stalker in the red means that they still have a stalker. Keeping the stalker means you can do more damage with that stalker. Regardless of HP stalkers still do full damage to other units. When it comes down to total shots available leaving a stalker alive more than once in a micro battle means that the stalkers can continue to shoot you and widdle your units down. In PvP situations like that its all micro and you cant say it was a build order loss :/

because now we get to see alicia play who can provide us with timings and micro as well as macro play. I think Alicia is overall a more rounded player than MC but we will need to see if his decisions are able to take him just as far

Last game was a mirrror build basically with alicia slightly edging out MC microwise. It wasn't a build order win at all. First game was a build order win as a defensive robo build beats 4 gate nowadays but it's still crazy hard to perform. MC's tactics have never been his strongest point imo and the fact PvP has become tactically more demanding as 4 gate isn't as good anymore has hurt his chances I'd say. Also facing someone equal to him in micro and he lost.
Markwerf summed up the 3 main points: MC's over reliance on Hard-microing his opponents to death in P v P, his BO disadvantage straight up to 3 gate robo and Alicia being a total sIcK baller nerd

Eh, I still think San could be the 3rd best Toss in Korea after MC/Alicia. I actually thought during his Ro4 in the GSL that he was the second best in the world and improving rapidly. Then they took out the amulet, his main weapon with all his storms, and he even complained in a World Championship interview that he had to change his whole style.
I think with the changes in PvP, that he could have an upswing coming.

Now he gets beaten in PvP and I think that he is just above average in that matchup, Alicia has mastered it quite well as we can see from his play and in result is superior.
just above average? i believe this is the first televized BoX pvp mc has actually lost in his sc2 career and vs someone that many consider the second best korean protoss including MC himself.
