Tyler goes Phoenix. Sen gets spores everywhere. Tyler goes DT.
There is something wrong here.
The DTs seemed to only be for Archons. Actually I saw him using DTs with his ground army and to defend his 4th. It was hard to see with 100 banelings covering the screen

Like someone else said, he counted on Sen making hydras. I can't imagine anyone being successful playing like this. it worked in BW
strong macro mechanics had a greater effect on skill level in BW
it's still definitely important in SC2, but strong macro mechanics don't carry you as far in SC2 compared to BW due to MBS, autoharvesting, etc in SC2 having a more equalizing effect on macro skill

Um no Tyler does NOT have a degree of any kind. He dropped out of Duke.

Someone doesn't know much about law school in the US.

No, but he's close enough to Korea to be able to comfortably play on the Korean server.

Idra and Incontrol were talking about Tyler on their GSTL viewing party stream. Apparently Tyler is incredibly lax at the moment with practicing, and from watching these games it looks like they're not wrong.
To sort of quote Incontrol, I think his words were something along the lines of "Tylers total practice this week consists of beating the single player".

Nah he practices on Korean, Taiwanese, and NA servers. Sen can deal with the latency issues since hes just in Taiwan, Tyler cannot.

A lot of people who don't like Tyler is because of how he criticizes other progamers on SotG. Tyler hasn't been playing well for a while, but last time I checked, he doesn't play a lot because of his wife. Even if he does quit, he has a backup plan since he went to a well known school.

MC is a proven winner, Tyler is not. so i'm guessing 99% of the posters here should shut up about pro players then :/ Absolutely. The level of hypocrisy here is disgusting. Tyler is an immensely talented player, with some of the best mechanics in the scene today and the wisdom and experience to turn them into results. He just needs to get his head in the right space, as it's been clear for a while now that he hasn't.
Time will tell whether he'll do so. I think it'd be a great loss for the SC2 community and level of competition if he doesn't.

Hmmm... I don't know who I want to win. :/

it doesn't matter what tyler's play or builds are like... why can't you see that??! tyler's play has NO EFFECT on whether MC's builds are risky or not! he's always just been pointing out his OPINION that MC plays risky, which isn't exactly hard to believe.
tyler may have played poorly in these games, but that doesn't change anything.

Tyler shouldn't use builds he practices mostly on ladder and on stream in tournament matches. First, Sen likely scouts these sorts of things. Second, even if he doesn't, NA ladder isn't the best place to get good feedback for your builds - pro-gamers like Tyler can likely beat people with sheer mechanics on NA ladder, but Sen is a different story altogether.
I don't know if he did it, but Tyler should've practiced these builds extensively with Ret if not Idra, and they likely would've been able to pick out the issues he would face against Sen.
