Seems like Jinro is playing a dated style of TvZ. Attacking the zerg early and often seems to be the new playstyle, rather than Jinro's macro style.

Nature has its ways. The weaker ones has to go and the strongest remain. I think both Jinro and HuK will fall down from code-A and leave Korea together with Haypro. Honestly, I don`t see any player with enough dedication and methodical approach to the game to keep up with the koreans, except IdrA.

I think it is definitely time to realize that the koreans are one step ahead, and will always be.

I just want the better players to stay, and that is what happened today. Jinro played like a beast a month or so ago though, oh well.

West don't have best players there. NaNi, Thor, Hasu, Dimaga, Strelok, kas and many others I think would be S class.

idra too of course. He was getting higher every season and is playing better than ever now.

What? Are you aware of the Code-S level of play? Hasu, Strelok would never ever get there. Kas has the skill and he could if he trained 24/7 but he lacks strong mentality and thats extremely important when it comes to stage matches.. Thor has a lot to prove yet, dont get carried away from his results in online matches he had a week to prepare for. NaNi and Dimaga are the only ones who i could see in Code-S after 2 or 3 months in Korea.

Are you aware of the Code-S level of play?

A lot of top Europeans would easily play in Code S, I can only think of a few Americans but the Europeans are definitely there skill-wise.

A few of the top Europeans could compete in Code S (and be about mid-tier), a lot could (maybe) compete in Code A. TSL shows that given enough preparation, a lot of Europeans can create very strong customized builds for their opponents and win decisively, the GSL World Championships showed that with little preparation they still can get slaughtered just as easily. I do agree almost nobody in the NA server could compete in Code S though.

I actually disagree. Given enough time, I think that a Kiwikaki, a TT1, a Major/Terran/Kitty, an Incontrol, a Tyler, a Drewbie etc. could all compete at least in code A. They would have to stay in korea for a LONG time though. They couldn't just fly over and compete in code S, although I bet a few europeans could.

Code A has no money, if you're going to be a perennial Code A all-star your better off putting your efforts elsewhere.
Kiwikaki, Terran, InControl could do Code A well. Not sure about the others you mentioned though to be honest.

To be honest, I doubt even some of those European players could make straight shoot into Korea and go for Code S, even Jinro failed to qualify twice.

The tournament requires you to set up shop and prepare to work at it, getting ready for one straight attempt to make it through the qualifiers, through code A and then into code S is pretty demanding and puts a lot of pressure on you. I don't think any foreigner has actually done it since the establishment of the league unless they were there from the start.

You have to commit to Korea, that's the big thing.

Feel bad for Jinro. He mentioned recently that he was really working on modernizing his style so it was suitable for the new metagame.

Such is the level of competition now in code S that the fact that he isn't quite at the level he was before due to this transition translates from him being really competitive, to him slumping and getting relegated to code A.

I hope he comes back.

And that's about all I take from it. I wish every time a foreigner loses a game it would stop being reduced to an argument of korea vs the world, there are so many more factors than that. Jinro hasn't performed that well in tournament play in general recently. If anything, if you want to go down that road, what we've seen from the last several months would point to the fact that the swedish scene is very strong at present.

Jinro didn't play a macro style though. He did allinish bunker rushes and double starport banshee.

eta: I guess he played macro against Zenio on dual sight, but he executed poorly. Not taking a quick third against a no gas build from Zenio was ughhhh.

Jinro just has an outdated style of play. Honestly these days you have to be very aggressive as terran vs zerg. As soon as he adjusts to the more modern styles of play he'll probably go back up.

Shit shit

San and Jinro moved down?
And the 2 players that moved up are ones I don't know too well yet (as I assume with most others) so it's a bit disappointing.

Oh well I see the ratings are somewhat high, I hope Jinro went mech at least 1 time? :D

I don't know what's happened to Liquid. All their players seem to be slumping hard. Maybe Koreans are improving faster than Jinro and Huk are, maybe they just lost their confidence. The things that stand out to me are micro mistakes and poor reaction to what's going on in the game. It's like once they get set on a strategy, they'll do it despite their opponent knowing it and preparing to hard counter it. Basically they've been playing like robots lately.

I believe Idra is better than anyone on Liquid. He gets a lot of flack but he is far more consistent a player than anyone on Liquid and hasn't slumped yet. Idra's new ZvP style is also very successful and aggressive and I like it. I think very few foreigners have a serious shot at getting into Code S now, the level of competition is really high. I suspect a guy like Naniwa can do it since he had the mental fortitude to perform at the LAN environment of MLG. Most foreign players seem to perform best online from the comfort of their home, and fall apart at LANs.

Sad to see Jinro knocked to Code A but with supposedly 4 more regular GSLs, a Super Tournament and the Blizzard Cup for 2011 there is still a lot he can do in regards to just sticking to the GSL circuit, so still plenty for him to look forward to. Not to mention how many non GSL tournaments that will happen.

Just take a little inspiration from Rain! He fell to Code A and got back into Code S (first to do this I believe).

Wow seems like Jinro could not improve anymore and the other players let him behind in terms of skill
Jinro played really bad overall and I think he knew that himself and that is why he relied on bunkerrushes so heavily

oGs has some insane internet in their team house (they actually offered to let all korean players use their house for international games before), and as such lag should not be a big problem for oGs.Zenio. It probably isn't like playing on LAN, but the effects of lag would be minimal.

I guess you played some games from there otherwise you are assuming

Idra said he played games at the oGs house and still said it was unplayable.

In fact, he said no results from online tournaments NA-KR should be considered.

I'm going to go with him, since like Jinro or Tyler, he's not obligated to say the matches are fair.

find a more reliable source. Idra is an immature kid who whines all the time about everything - thats his thing.

Just what would IdrA gain from lying in this situation? He's moved back to the US for good and will be facing quite a few players playing from Korea in NASL and future tournaments. If anything, it would be in his interest to downplay the significance of lag.

Ouch, I was really betting on Jinro to make it. TT

Btw: Wasn't Coca the guy that learned to play in PC bangs because he didn't have a computer? Way to go.
