Kiwikaki, Terran, InControl could do Code A well. Not sure about the others you mentioned though to be honest. To be honest, I doubt even some of those European players could make straight shoot into Korea and go for Code S, even Jinro failed to qualify twice. The tournament requires you to set up shop and prepare to work at it, getting ready for one straight attempt to make it through the qualifiers, through code A and then into code S is pretty demanding and puts a lot of pressure on you. I don't think any foreigner has actually done it since the establishment of the league unless they were there from the start. You have to commit to Korea, that's the big thing.

Such is the level of competition now in code S that the fact that he isn't quite at the level he was before due to this transition translates from him being really competitive, to him slumping and getting relegated to code A. I hope he comes back. And that's about all I take from it. I wish every time a foreigner loses a game it would stop being reduced to an argument of korea vs the world, there are so many more factors than that. Jinro hasn't performed that well in tournament play in general recently. If anything, if you want to go down that road, what we've seen from the last several months would point to the fact that the swedish scene is very strong at present.

Jinro didn't play a macro style though. He did allinish bunker rushes and double starport banshee. eta: I guess he played macro against Zenio on dual sight, but he executed poorly. Not taking a quick third against a no gas build from Zenio was ughhhh.

![]() San and Jinro moved down? ![]() And the 2 players that moved up are ones I don't know too well yet (as I assume with most others) so it's a bit disappointing. Oh well I see the ratings are somewhat high, I hope Jinro went mech at least 1 time? :D

I believe Idra is better than anyone on Liquid. He gets a lot of flack but he is far more consistent a player than anyone on Liquid and hasn't slumped yet. Idra's new ZvP style is also very successful and aggressive and I like it. I think very few foreigners have a serious shot at getting into Code S now, the level of competition is really high. I suspect a guy like Naniwa can do it since he had the mental fortitude to perform at the LAN environment of MLG. Most foreign players seem to perform best online from the comfort of their home, and fall apart at LANs.

Just take a little inspiration from Rain! He fell to Code A and got back into Code S (first to do this I believe).

Jinro played really bad overall and I think he knew that himself and that is why he relied on bunkerrushes so heavily

Just what would IdrA gain from lying in this situation? He's moved back to the US for good and will be facing quite a few players playing from Korea in NASL and future tournaments. If anything, it would be in his interest to downplay the significance of lag.
