There's A LOT of sarcasm behind all this. A huge majority of young Swedes are actually republicans and the king is more often than not a joke.
Not saying that that's true for everyone though, there are monarchists as well and sports (and esports) will always create some nationalistic pride.

Woa! Haha, okey.. that's not true what so ever . Most of young swedes probably don't even care about if we're a monarchy or not and the general opinion in sweden is by far in favorof monarchy I'm afraid, haha. it tends to vary between 80-70% formonarchy, even though it went down slightly in the last opinion poll...
But hey... Who cares.. It is however very true that sporting accomplishments is highly unifying in Sweden and has always been. The national pride is extreme during success and when we suddenly start losing we tend to stop caring about the sport ... very amusing if you look at it from an objective point of view...
If it's sarcastic when Swedes blatantly shout out their pride in public... I'm not so sure... I'm more of the belief that it's actually a quite honest expression and if anything only socially ignorant . Personally I think that it is acceptable with joyful cheering when your national representatives win, as long as you don't overdo it in a insincere way which would include name-calling and rude behavior - in other terms, sad winning.
Hahaha.. man, this is starting to be waaaay too serious... Troll hammer please...
