it's so funny how critical everyone becomes and how quickly the hatred flows. it's like by choosing to do a certain build the player's managed to personally offend the viewers.

He was third in the latest lan ( was it the gathering?) , beating tlo and morrow on the way.
First and second was mc and kas btw so it was no shame at all.

Basic summary of Grubby vs Vibe G1:

Typhon Peaks
Vibe in bottom right, Grubby in bottom left
Vibe goes 15hatch, 15 pool, Grubby makes a wall at nat with gate/core
Grubby throws down 3 extra gateways after vibe leaves his base, meaning a 4gate attack
Vibe puts up a spinecrawler and a makes a few of lings
Grubby throws down 2 proxy pylons and a round of stalkers
Vibe sees the units approaching and makes a lot of zerglings
Grubby attacks with a decent force of zealots and stalkers.
Vibe takes out the pylon and then surrounds grubby's force with zerglings.
Vibe successfully defends the 4gate an tries to counter attack, but the ramp is blocked by a zealot
Grubby has stopped mining gas, so no sentries to defend counterattacks, but a zealot blocks the wall.
Grubby warps in zealots on the ramp, trapping the zerglings attacking the wall
Vibe sacs an overlord to scout for any tech or transition.
Grubby takes his expansion on 45 supply at 9:45, Zerglings try to deny but the protoss army scares them off
Grubby throws up another hidden pylon southwest of vibe's nat
Vibe researches roach speed and burrow, and attacks
Vibe's attack with his roaches and lings gets a great concave, killing grubby's army and forcing the GG.

I am not personally bashing him. Hes really talented RTS player. But i am biased on my own experience. Every time i watch grubby im disappointed. A lot of the time also i am impressed. Just giving my opinion though, no harm done. I hope he wins the series ! !

At this point in time I wouldn't say those wins are impressive, especially Morrow.

He's 0-3, desperate for a win and ViBE has proven time and time again that he hasn't been able to hold timing attacks in the NASL. I completely understand Grubby's decision to try a 4gate the first game against an opponent who has shown those kind of weaknesses. His 4 gate was fine up until he lost the probe so couldn't continue building closer pylons and then got supply blocked from losing the closest one.

He hasn't won a game yet in NASL you can't expect a mostly american Starcraft community to know a warcraft 3 legend or a Euro tournament win. Truth is we havn't seen him preform consistently yet and thats probably beacuse he hasn't had as much time with the game as other players calm down.

"great player" is of course a relative thing... and it doesn't take a pro to recognize that fact. His decision to warp in 4 zealots after his whole army was surrounded was very questionable, as was his decision to 4gate in the first place...
