It (NASL) feels very dull right now and if they don't improve a lot in the near feature (NASL hasn't improved a lot since 'The clash of the Titans' which IS shocking), people will lose interest as there are already better competitions out there, just not as big as NASL (yet). Hell even the amateur-like Copenhagen games tournament had more production value than NASL has right now.
I don't meant to bash NASL, so please see this as constructive criticism.

Well he did mention that he feels "IPL does everything better", so that could be construed as a nudge in the right direction. I will agree that right now I would prefer to watch IPL over NASL, as the stream quality is far superior, and I enjoy the casting quite a bit more. The cool effects between games definitely doesn't hurt either.

I seriosuly can't understand people, that have watched GSL, Dreamhack, IPL etc, and still say NASL is fine as it is. It is not. I'm certainly not the only perosn who won't pay $25 for NASL when I can have better production value with any of its competitors. Simple as that.

This has been beaten to death, but comparing IPL to NASL is ridiculous because there is no comparison.
The IPL's inaugural tournament was a modest invitational compromised of only NA players. All the content was 'canned', and prerecorded with a month of post-production. The reason why the product seems better is because the product is simpler. It's pretty easy to sync and balance audio when the commentator is casting a replay and you have a week or two to edit it.
The NASL's first season is a 50 man, divisional, international tournament producing 4+ hours of new content a day, 5 days a week. There is NO precedence for a tournament of this scale or complexity. Not even the GSL doesn't have the diversity of players that GSL has, or broadcasts as many matches.
While there have been many documented issues so far, they are, for the most part, succeeding at broadcasting 20-plus hours of new high-level Starcraft a week.
They have a lot of room to improve, but to be entirely fair, they are setting a new and unprecedented standard, in terms of tournament format, player pool and broadcasting schedule.
And let's all remind ourselves, one of the main reasons why they are having scheduling and production problems is because the FANS wanted an international player pool, and they delivered it. It would be much, much easier to coordinate and produce this tournament with only NA players.

I tried to watch NASL today with the Kiwikaki vs Morrow games. Anytime there was any sort of battle or even just a lot of units moving then the screen would freeze for 10-15 seconds. All I could do was listen as the commentators explained what was going on, but that's just not the same as seeing Kiwi using his blink micro and mothership vortex.
Whereas I have yet to experience anything more than a reasonable amount of stutter when watching IPL. I'm not sure why I lag so badly with one and not the other, but that is certainly keeping me from watching a majority of the NASL matches.

I don't know about everything. The graphics are better, sure, and they don't have issues with players because everything is casted from months later after the actual tournament. I've watched a couple IPL VODs and I don't understand why people like it so much more than the NASL? I guess it's prettier, but I don't particularly care about that. NASL has presented far higher quality games and casting, in my opinion.

I think it can't handle the high resolution that's why it lagg. It's not just Nasl or IPL, streamers using justin also laggs sometimes.I hope it will get fix soon. USstream (used by TSL) is way better but it doesn't really support esports like justin tv do (profit commercials). If this goes own NASL and IPL might even force to produce their own web player.

Is there a way to watch individual VODS if I didn't pay for season ticket? I'm interested in Kiwi-Morrow game 2.

If anyone from NASL is reading this I just wanted to say at first I really didn't like it. It was clumsy, games weren't great and it just felt bad for such a big tournament.
After few weeks now I'm kinda starting to like it a lot. Casting is much better, games are kinda better (not always). Some stories are starting, like that some players need to start winning or they will be out.
I still have problem with sound. It feels mono for mee :o Don't know if it's in my end or what. Ofc there is always room to improve but I feel this product is getting better and better.

I think other than lag problem with the stream, NASL is doing great. Gretorp and iNcontroL are definitely getting better and when its time for knockout stage, it will only get that much more exciting.

Hmm... the thing about constructive criticism is you have to be right about some things...You haven't bothered to watch since the first broadcast have you?

dont think Grubby will win a game at this rate
Hoping he improves quickly!!!

i wish we could see some of the vods for free like maybe most voted ones or something. i'm not willing to put in 25 dollars yet.
|
5/5 today, predictable results as the quality/form of the players who won today are more than a notch above their opponents (possibly outside morrow vs. kiwi, i would suppose that was a close series. still, kiwi's form has been exceptional of late)

They should get more sponsors afther the success of this one

The reason it works so well here and it also works for Tasteosis is simple: The NASL has a lot of games. I don't know if iNctorp read these threads, but if you do, keep it up. Play by play and srsface casting in every single match when you have 25 best of 3s a week just wears any spectator out. They comment when the action is happening, and point out all the good things players are doing, and in the time between they keep the NASL broadcast entertaining. Also - no production snags tonight aside from occasional stream choppiness, which isn't NASL-based anyway. You guys are doing in three weeks what it took the GSL 3 seasons to achieve, seriously well done. With time I'm hoping for more flashy frills and extras (a la IPL) but for now its just solid, enjoyable watching Has it been decided yet if it's iNctorp or Gretrol? I think Gretrol is more fitting and rolls off the tongue better. Both options are very ugly, and sound like fourth generation Pokemon. Unfortunately, I can offer no alternatives. GrecontroL and iNcontorp are both weird too.
Well considering how much Gretorp gets trolled by Incontrol, Gretroll is probably the most apt name.
