It is extremely weak early on and does also rely a lot on a good concave(so your thors can 250mm, without being focused down 1 at a time before each finishes their target). Chill mentioned thorzain making a tank early on "just because he had the infrastructure", while I'm pretty sure it was actually to hold of allins.

I doubt that, even Thorzain show great play here, but GSL is a difference stage. Its where your opponent gonna study you day and night, find every replay,VOD of you, find out your every BO and counter you. GSL also being played in booth which add alot of pressure on players. For some players, that pressure alone will just break them before their opponent does.
Well, so could Thorzain giving he gives it a real shot, stays there with a team, trains hard and over several seasons. I have no idea if he could do it, but I think it's totally plausible.

naniwa or thorzain is gonna win this thing. sorry kas but thorz is simply on another level

Ironically, I think MC's standard risky play (his game two void ray build, for example) could have cracked Thorzain or at least denied the expansion in that final game.

Holy crap Thorzain, you beast!!! I'm glad cos now MC can't brag about being the best anymore Thorzain vs Kas will be epic.

Players left in TSL: Thorzain, Kas, Naniwa, Cruncher, Hasuobs, Boxer
All are former wc3 players, except for Boxer. At least the western sc2 scene is pretty much dominated by wc3 players.

This have got to be the best series in SC2 history so far. I can't remind myself of any other bo3/5/7 this good. OMG
So fucking happy for my Thorzain Omg If he dosen't win the whole thing... Well... Then NaNi does
Still though...

Also I believe Kas is going to beat Thorzain in the semifinals.

HT used to be answer now there is no answer.
So does 2 Base Collo and 3 Base Voidrays Collo 'strategies', lol. MC didn't even have upgrades to stop this Thor build.

Yes indeed I am on that Thorzain bandwagon.

Very smart by Thorzain going for the defensive upgrades... DPS of the Thor is fine, the issue is just keeping them alive with SCV's. The key for this kind of build vs terran is early pressure because that type of teching leaves terran vulnerable early. Big mistake by MC going phoenix early...intended for the tanks but huge waste against a Thor/SCV/Hellion army. Just too much teching/expanding by MC (probably his mind was still in the last game) and not enough pressure

Its really interesting to read threads like this. Koreans are plain and simply losing often to Europeans, yet no one is willing to admit it. Maybe a year from now once its normal, people will accept European equality?

MC and Kas were both pretty equal players. xD

MC pretty much never loses PvP and PvZ, while almost all of Thorzain's wins come from TvP. It's pretty clear who the better player overall is.

That's what ThorZain's "useless" vikings were in anticipation of. Best way to beat that build is to not let the game reach that point. The gas put into phoenix could have been put into quicker/more collosus, and a 3 or so collosus push probably could have broken that build early.

Thorzain shows that it's important to not just win, but to win with style.

Win % in mirror match ups are very different, and MC does have 2 GSL titles. Exactly, MKP 3-2ed MC too, with none of the ridiculous fanfare. What ridiculous fanfare? Are you not reading the thread? Also, Polt beat MC TvP too. This is just the latest in his "lose to random terrans" tour. Can we just appreciate what Thorzain has done? Idk how many of you guys followed BW, but things like this just did not happen. Foreigners beating a top Korean? Otherworldly for us old BW fans.

So impressed. I am a Thorzain fan now without doubt.

How do you think it was a close series despite those blunders?
This is no insult to Thorzain. His builds are excellent. His execution is not notable however.
