Its time to enjoy the matches, keep the whining out of this thread. GL HF! Also, don't reply to the whining and ignore it: have faith in the mods, we read every post and act swiftly. You're making it worse. Enjoy! |
They only reason I watched TSL3 was Mondragon
I never played SC2 but he made TSL3 the first games of that game I ever watched
I played bw for years, watched most of Mondis games, every game of TSL1 & 2 but now it's just over TT
SC2 is unbelievable boring to watch (atleast for me) but with Mondi playing I got those bw-feelings back - could watch boxer but I'm afraid that I will just not turn in on this TSL again - sadface! :<

Although I'm a protoss, I gotta ask: what could Mondragon do better in the last game? It seems to me that he played very well. Maybe get some infestors with that 1.7K gas, commit less to mutalisks against blink stalker/HT. There's plenty of things that he could do better. HT hard counter infestors. you know that right? Uhh no they don't. They really don't counter each other. As the above poster stated get the infestors to go along with the mutas. Fungal stops the blink zerglings can surround. He was kind of implying that without stating it. HTs insta-kill Infestors using Feedback. There is no way you can say HTs do NOT counter Infestors unless you are joking.

I think mondi is certainly a better player all around, I just think his plan fell apart in game 3 when he tried the meta-muta trick. He had 2 chances to meta the mutas vs phoenix ratio, and both times he got exposed, it also didn't help he wasn't able to get the attack upgrade(s) for the mutas as well (infestors would have worked as well, but I can see why he wasn't able to go that route with what he had to assume was on the field). Oh well, my LB's went through, but Mondi had me scared, certainly showed the better play today.
No, he didn't outthink Cruncher at all. If he out thought Cruncher he would not have lost 3-1. believe it or not, zergs do sometimes win against protoss. In this case, Mondragon did not. Just because he attacks from different angles, then loses them, does not make his play superior. Just because he kills some probes then proceeds to lose 20 mutalisks does not make him a superior player. Being unable to hold off a basic cannon rush does not make him a superior player.
This is ridiculous. someone PLEASE explain how Mondragon outplayed Cruncher here? Watch the VODs again and actually look at what Cruncher is doing. You're just throwing out words due to fanboyisms. I don't particularly like Cruncher but people saying he didn't win through outplaying Mondragon are ridiculous.

I also like how Naniwa has now become the shining white knight of hope. Amazing what one amazing weekend of games can do for you.

Mondragon didnt open enough doors.

Cruncher really played that forth game very well, the poking in the beginning was good, the decision-making after he saw those mutas was good and he defended his expansions properly. Wasn't impressed with the first two games and we don't need to talk about the third game.
Especially game 2 makes me mad. You are not supposed to fight cost efficiently as zerg, and Mondragon killed a lot of units, workers and buildings throughout the whole game. And then he just makes the wrong unit one time (corrupters) and the game is just lost. That happens just too easy I think.

I love how people are saying Infestors would've been useless because of Feedback. Is everyone really stuck in this "X hard counters Y" mentality?

Forreal it's kinda dumb that phoenixs being micro'd can't even get hit by mutas. I mean at least Z in bw could micro mutas against corsairs. Plus phoenix build time now hahaha. See Z spawning 20 mutas and have one stargate? NP I JUST CHRONO OUT SOME PHOENIX LOL ZERG.
Anyway game is pretty much over. GG MONDY <3
Cruncher vs Nani LOLOLOL. First time saying but NANI FIGHTING! You do know that Cruncher had the phoenix and stargate out before Mon had alot of phoenix? Cruncer also scouted the mutas. So yea. Phoenix is meant to counter mutas so yea. Its like oh im being attacked by 6 roaches I chrono 1 immortal 3 stalkers Im good to go.
I'm assuming you meant before Mon had alot of muta. While I agree phoenix is counter to muta I think it's a bit too hard of a counter, esp for a unit that's otherwise so good too. W/e not for this thread.
Gotta give Cruncher some respect for last game I guess. Take it as you will but Cruncher def. know's how to play PvZ in current in state of game.
WP GO NANI. Here's hoping Nani does proxy gates, cannon rush, and a 4 gate. And that he then caps the series off with a " " and calls out Cruncher as a player who thinks he's too good and he's arrogant (just like Cruncher called out IdrA).

But Mondragon had enough gas for 40 Mutas...?

ZvT is reasonably fair, I think -- Sen vs. Boxer showed that a zerg who plays well can compete against a terran who plays well. Yes, Boxer won in the end, but it was quite close.

so glad the better player won, which usually happens in Best of 5s
I wish mondragon would have done nydus worms, infestor play
at least I got to see cruncher play amazingly and win thanks to it. <3 sc2
GGs by all

Looking at the zerg players per round at the TSL3 wiki made me sad.
ro32 9 zerg ro16 3 zerg ro8 0 zerg
Who should I be cheering for now...
Boxer?

What are you talking about? Cruncher played brilliantly that last round. He was always being active with his Phoenix, great storms, almost less than half the units lost. The Shakuras game irked me, but Cruncher just played better that last game What do you mean when you say "Great Storms" its just T click T click When you do force fields sure you need to know where to place them. Like with emp its E click E click :p the whole game is just Button click Button click. Nah man. That's only when it's the wrong guy winning. When it's your favourite winning it's with perfect storms and awesome force fields. That's how it works here.
