Lag is not even an issue because Kas has high latency, too because Ukraine has shitty internet compared to SK with super fast internet.

I can't believe people have already forgotten MC is still in this tournament, he crushed Ciara with a lag disadvantage and convincingly won a series against White-Ra in an even playing field.

All the small cups and mini online tournaments going all over the EU server really helps strengthen the EU scene .

I dunno why Chill said Nada's Terran was better than Boxers, when he lost 3-1 to him. TvT

I hope Boxer will do well in the next rounds.

How people can blame NaDa's loss on lag is beyond me, Kas is leaps and bounds better than him in TvT.

Nada's banshee micro was great vs TLO @ Ro32.
Nada lost a banshee to a turret in the GSL Teamleague.

People just want an excuse. The reality is that latency may have been an issue, but Jinro already clarified that in a post. The bigger reality is that Kaz was significantly better today.

4 in 4 this weekend^^ Starting to think Kas may be the favourite for the title now too.

Kas or Thorzain for sure

Not Thorzain. He showed some nice builds, but his opponents were underperforming. Thorzain didn't prove a lot in other tournies.

Favourites for me are MC, Kas and Naniwa.

i have a feeling naniwa wont make it, im calling goody while i still can.

Hmm, really?
Naniwa's MLG performance was commanding. Unless he gets massively tilted I don't see him losing a Bo5 to someone who isn't spectacular. I like Goody, but I don't think he has what it takes. Really looking forward to the match though.

Well if you look at pretty much all the previous TSL results, having played well in the past is not really good for you

what ppl dont realize is that kas is playing from ukraine i believe? which probably gives him around the same amount of delay as koreans playing on the NA server

Anyways, GG by Kas; he played quite well.

I think people are just so biased when it comes to this stuff.

NOBODY blamed lag when Haypro lost to Kas. So many people blame lag when Nada loses to Kas. It's just in your head, what your expectations are.

What was your refusal to acknowledge the very evident lag in the mvp vs Adelscott games if not pure pro-foreigner bias?

I mean you were literally watching the best Terran in the world control his units like a Bronze league player and mocking anyone who suggested lag may be the reason (as opposed to the alternative, which is that he's absolutely terrible at SC2).

Maybe people need to give some of these europeans more respect, they've played damn well recently and it shouldn't be much of a surprise anymore

You can blame MvP lose to lag, you can blame Genius lose to lag, you can blame Fruitdealer lose to lag, and so. But this series, was a total rape from Kas.

People are forgetting that Kas isn't sitting in Sweden and playing his games. It wouldn't surprise me if he has as bad lag as Nada, if not worse.

I hate to say this but it's not. The STOG crew hardly know who Kas is and don't follow the scene outside of GSL and major tournaments. Anyone who follows the scene outside of GSL knows he's the best Terran and TvTer in Europe. No surprise at all. NaDa's name should have no meaning in this match.

yeah this idk why they said nada vs kas would be bigest upset, upset yes but not biggest.

I would say MVP/Nestea games were bigger upsets ^^.

I see a lot of people complaining about lag, but most of the whining comes from people registered in US. I belive that a big part of this is that people do not know the European players.

People are supprised when they see Kas beating Nada, but if you follow the european turnaments you would have seen Goody, Sjow, Kas and Beastyqt duke it out time and time again. And among these guys even MVP and Marineking would get a run for their money.

So you should not be suprised that Kas steamroled Nada 3-0, Kas is just that good. If you knew more about the European players, maybe you would not expect auto-win for the Koreans and then just maybe, we could stop the whining about lag.

It's what we've seen before in the TSL tho. None of them playing at the level they play in the GSL, which is a shame . No matter what the reason is, be it lag, not taking it seriously, it does kind of ruin the tournament.

We all wanted a good comparison between korea and the rest of the world, and we don't seem to be getting it.

Why do you say that we aren't getting it? Seems to me that when Koreans aren't sitting in their home country playing in familiar conditions against people with jet lag, and playing in a foreign country, they don't appear to be any better than foreigners. What's wrong with that? I feel like many people's prejudices regarding koreans vs foreigners are clouding their judgement. Eventually when foreigners have as much success as Koreans, you have to start saying maybe they aren't better!

Because pretty much every korean in the TSL is underperforming. We've all seen Nada, MC, MVP, Nestea play 15 times better in the GSL then in this TSL. I would love a situation where we could say that 'foreigners' are as good as koreans, but with the koreans playing like this it really doesn't mean all that much.

I don't know what the cause of it is, but something is definately wrong on the korean side, either in terms of how much they actually care about winning or in terms of their playstyle being hampered by something.

I was very much looking forward to this tournament but it's just not been living up to my expectations.

This exactly sums up what I've been thinking. Most of the Korean progamers just don't seem to be doing so hot in TSL3.

So people are on "State of the game" but have actually no clue about the "state of the game"??

How can you call Kas winning against Nada the biggest upset in the TSL... Right now, Kas is destroying every tournament he enters.

lag may have played a small role but it didnt seem a deciding factor at all. its not like you get supply blocked because of lag. or forget to build workers. or units. you get where im going. it was just sloppy play, with no excuses

that's not true at all

I know that, for me, lag completely throws off my game. Nothing feels right. I get supply blocked, mismicro, slip up on macro, and just generally make retarded decisions when there's a lot of lag.

I give you that, but one would think that at this level of play and with so much money on the line, the players would take the time to get used to the servers. EU players didnt see to be affected by lag any slight bit. even if they had less lag than KOR players, it would have been noticeable if lag was throwing them off their game. as someone said before, the invitees dont seem to be taking this tournament quite as serious as the ones who had to try hard to qualify

It's a fair point to say they should've played on the NA server, no excuse there. But I do think they MAY have though ( I certainly don't know for sure) that they would be fine if they practice diligently IN KOREA. So I think they did take this tournament seriously but didn't factor in the lag factor. Perhaps I'm mistaken but that would be thought.

Oh sorry, I played on the NA server (only plat T_T) for 4 months in Korea while I was studying abroad so I have some sense of how bad it is/was.

Because the best Terran in the world obviously didn't even bother to play on the NA server beforehand in order to prepare for his match.
