I'm pretty sure when he knew he had to face MVP he decided to go away from MarineKing-style TvT and switch it up and since then he hasn't won a TvT. Before that he was probably the second best TvTer in the world though. Hopefully now that he has seen a lot of Terrans have switched to his style in TvT(even mma, who beat mvp with it in the GTSL) he'll play the way he should because he's still the best at it.

Wish I could watch it live, but I'll settle for vods. MKP seems to be slumping in TvT since his GSL Jan loss to MVP. Hope it won't be a 4-0

Imo, it doesnt matter that its MKP he is playing against, it is simply TvT+MVP= win.

mkp has a good # of 2nds/3rds so i'll root for him to take home a gold finally. I don't think he can though in a best of 7 against mvp in TvT of all matches.

Hopefully he'll play properly this time, last time he seemed like he beat himself by assuming he'd not beat MVP, so tried a new style that didn't work at all.
He did the same against MC in the semi's and went 2-0 down, then once he went back to how he played against everyone else he won fairly comfortably.
Hopefully beating MC playing how he's most comfortable will give him the confidence to do it against MVP. I don't know if he'll win if he does, but I very much doubt it'll be as one sided as last time.

Yeah, it's kind of ironic. Recently all his victories are in games that have gone to the mid-game or further(excluding that cheese against Leenock, but hey that was Leenock's luck).

I believe in you MKP! Third time is the charm, I really think MKP deserves this win after all it being his third finals he definitely has the experience, let us hope he can stick to what he knows and practiced and edge out a win against one of the best TvT out there.

But now, MKP is back, and he's in better shape than I've seen him for a while.
MC vs MKP has shown that when MKP just sticks to his basics, he can win. When not lifting of to gold or doing a proxy thor rush, MKP can win. It's the faith that he's truly lacking in, showcased by his utter disbelief after beating MC and his tears of joy in doing so.
MKP is a champion in all ways but one: he lacks the spirit. But I can tell he has that now, and he's going to win.
Great observation, however, your conclusion completely contradicts the evidence you presented. In his most RECENT game he was shown to be surprised in himself, I don't think he has that confidence that you need for grand final 1v1s. However, I do think it's higher. Is it his time to shine?

I think MKP is due for a championship, plus people are starting to genuinely appreciate him for all the creative and entertaining games he gives us.
