The brackets for code A, starting April 18th, have been revealed:
Day 1:
MMA vs TopClass Hyperdub vs Line GanZi vs PeanutCracker JJUN vs Bomber
Day 2:
Leenock vs CreatorPrime Revival vs Ryung SlayerS_BoxeR vs explosionNL ALive vs Finale
Day 3:
Ace vs Violet August vs YuGiOh TheBest vs Min MVP vs Lure
Day 4:
BansBans vs Brown choya vs Keen CoCa vs Squirtle Noblesse vs Tassadar

Interesting brackets. My opinion:
- Bomber on first day? ^_^ - I feel bad for Prime. Their only code A player is going to be eliminated first round. - TheBest is pretty unlucky. - Lure is the unfortunate soul who has to face MVP. - I wish I could say Squirtle will dominate the last quarter of the bracket, but he's against ZeNEXCoCa, who displayed some pretty damn good ZvP against Ace.

its sad to say i have no idea who half the qualifiers are =[
|
I can recognize quite a few of these players, the sad part is, no foreigners.
|
Will check out the players that I know, but since there are no foreigners this time around I feel no will to watch it closely at all.
|
I wonder whether some sort of seeding is done for Code A (which is logical). For instance, the 8 players in the up/down matches should certainly be seeded. The other 8 of the ro16 players should then be the next few seeds.

JJUN vs Bomber?
Wow, i can't believe one of them will get knocked out of Code A. TheBest vs Min will be interesting, it'll be cool to see if Min can live up to the hype. Looking to see MMA and Ryung play as well.
|
as a fan it's a little sad to see that there are no foreigners in this season of code a, but then again the level of play should be much higher. it's exciting to see how players like MMA, ryung, bomber, min and squirtle do, having seen such great games from them in the gstl.

Well it looks like GOM did their best not to have some random no-name take out a potential S class player. MMA, boxer, MVP leenock and a few others are playing people I don't recognize.

8 players from GSL Mar. Up & Down matches + 8 players from GSL Mar. Code A Ro16 (players who did not make it to Ro8) + 16 players who qualified through preliminaries
=fun times

Its very disappointing that there are no foreigners in Code A this month even when there are foreigners staying in the Gomtv house - makes me wonder what the point of Gomtv even having it is.
|
I beg to differ on the Prime part.....I don't really think Leenock is that solid. Will not surprise me if Creator makes it through.
JJUN vs. Bomber.....now THATS a match I can't decide on.

It's still a good way to encourage more international participation in the GSL, even if no foreigners qualified this time around.
The first round match that really stands out to me is Ace vs Violet. They both seem to be very promising players, and this should be a cracker.

The foreigners in the GOM house are probably only staying for the duration of the World Championship, which is scheduled to end before the start of Code A. From interviews, quite a few of them have said that they have no intention of staying in Korea for the long-term.
I think GOM would probably really like to have foreign seeds again, but the problem is that the foreign house is currently quite occupied and the current foreigners in Korea have either turned down possible seed positions or had failed the qualifiers.

How good is Lure ? He should have "fun" against MVP...
|
Assuming people playing on the same day are in the same side of the bracket, this means only 1 each of Ganzi/Bomber, Leenock/Ryung, Ace/Yugioh, MVP/Min will make it to the Ro8, assuming they all win their 1st round matches. Code A is brutal man.

Yeah its a shame but I don't think the Korean and Foreign scenes are going to have much crossover in the future especially when North American events are all in a LAN setting like the GSL, there isn't enough money involved to fly back and forth and it may not even be possible from a scheduling point of view.

Has the map pool for this season been announced yet?
|
Hard to call. I see many disappointments in these, but time will tell. I hope for Boxer, Min, Ryung, MMA, Bomber and Squirtle to make it thru to Code S. Don't care much about MVP tbh.

sucks for MVP/Min when Choya looks to be able to get to up/down match easily
