The names that are used on multiplay are simply the players multiplay user name, and is unlikely to ever change - so sometimes it can be difficult to tell which "Multiplay" nickname belongs to which "SC2" nickname.

Chances are it could just be an old nickname.

@Holcan, Hamsters not going

@Noam, TG and CHG is muuuuch larger than this. so its really a lan for uk >_>; euros will be at them events

@This event. Oh god, i41 worked to be such a mega success, why are you doing this bracket system again? Yeah it might work smoothly, but omg it went so so bad as a players POV. Forcing zergs onto steppes of war. Brillo. :/

We dont have Steppes of war

The maps I have chosen are better suited to Macro play - which removes alot of the early game problems Zerg would have in the old tournaments.

Personally I think Crossfire SE, ICCup Testbug and Scrap Station would be better than Backwater and Slag Pits

I have to admit to considering Test Bug and Crossfire while I was narrowing down the maps. After seeing Testbug even more during MLG it's got a great chance of replacing one of those two you mentioned.

I still have a couple of weeks to iron maps out. I may even be changing a couple of the rules for map choosing and BO1 in group stage (based on no. Of signups).

Keep the feedback coming. I am open to considered remoulding before the final week.

Perhaps use the MLG versions of maps where it is available to avoid close spawns etc?

Tyles.772 Bobstar.223 I'm just disappointed they overhyped an announcement which would obviously cause a lot of backlash in the TL community. Sure they acquired huk, but they didn't have to rub it in our faces.

Kharne, according to a few recent polls Slag Pits is the least favored ladder map:

Tickets will sell out and I think we are running low, so watch out you don't leave it too late. You can sign up for the tournament as late as the Friday at LAN.

I actually quite like slag pits personally! Shame. Will switch that out for Testbug. I prefer to have a good tournament overall if possible!

At the LAN we have "boxes" which is a group booking where you have a room to yourself with around 20 other players. These are quite luxury and if you arrange to go in one with like minded players (eg SC2 players) you are likely to have an awesome time!

I have attended insomnia LANs since i14 which was around 9 years ago - I have always loved the social aspects and if you can get down to watch and play some games its well worth it! There is so much more going on other then the tournaments - bars, food, exhibitions and silly fun games to enter for tons of prizes - MvC3 anyone?

If I was a professional I'd be sly and head to i42 instead. No risk of running into Naniwa, MC or some other beast.

Then again, afaik the "regulars" at i42 like rANDY, Pureball and Apollo are pretty beastly too, so it's not like it'd be a walk either..

Anyway, will be watching this. Last year was an awesome show.

I'm not sure if its too late to change map pool, tourney is like 2 days away, but perhaps it would be possible to change TSL shakuras with the current Bnet shakuras. I can't really think of any benefits to using it.

1)Already several none ladder maps to practice.
2)TSL shakuras has less diversity, always cross map spawn.
3) Despite this, still balance issues concerning backdoor rocks.
4)TSL Shakuras centre map is more congested with rocks in middle making one corridor for attack until they're destroyed which can lead to turtleish games.

TSL hasn't really been a great advertisement for the map also. I think the map pool is great overall, just saying...

I've already revised the map pool twice so this time we are going to stick with what we have - I think you could find a criticism for every possible map choice so I am happy to keep what we have now!

Thanks for the feedback though - always appreciated

So atm, the Xsplit problems are hobbling streaming efforts. The onsite hardware solution is not capable of HD and looks poor. I am trying to work on an FMLE based solution, but that's taking a while to get going, assuming it works at all.

Just want to apologise for the lack of live coverage from ukstarcraft.net. Due to circumstances that extend from a RTA to the Amazon Cloud severs exploding, the unaviodable hiccups mean that we were and still are unable to stream from the venue.

I will however do the replay casting as soon as i arrive back home. While i am here however, i will try to get as much media, pictures, interviews etc, and hopefully something decent will come out of this trip from us.

Sorry again guys, we will make it up to the UK scene

Ok folks, thanks for watching today, I know we are the very definition of underdog vs Copenhagen and TSL but hey, there were some fun games and VoDs will hit my Youtube channel tomorrow.

Currently, SeleCT reigning undefeated in the winners bracket, however he will face his teammate Bling who did actually BEAT him (as well as Hasuobs) in the Gadget Show Invitational. iSeries regulars rANDY and Pureball are still in the tournament, with Pureball holding against his frequent opponent rANDY, knocking him down to the losers bracket and he will now be forced to face up against one of the UK's rising Terran stars Lau, known for his aggressive double-starport opening and excellent Banshee macro.

Stream will start at 10am British time, 11am CEST, 5am EST

Pureball, apollo, BlinG are all English afaik.

Plus Dignitas is a UK based team with ODEE as their British manager / head honcho.

Ah thanks for that, didn't know Apollo was in Dignitas. I should have gone to spectator, only like a 1 hour train journey from where I'm at if its at the same venue as last time.

How on earth did Dignitas pick up select btw? If hes Korean / living in America? Isn't the rest of the team from the EU?

Holy shit, I never knew Newbury was only 45 minutes from me. I should probably go to some i-series events in the future. When I was a cs/css player I never really fancied it, but for sc2 it could be good.

BlinG beat Select 2-0 & Lau beat Pureball 2-0 so the UB final is BlinG vs Lau

Select beat rANDY in the LB so he's in the LB final and he'll play the winner of Gomas and Pureball

Funny reading the nerd rage going on in the TB stream chat.

Either way looking forward to this. Not only the games but TB casting. It's fun all the way.

either TB's mic isn't on or no casting is occurring

Big problems already. SeleCT's computer can't handle the battles and he dropped to 20 fps, and TB's mic was muted all throughout the first match. Guess they're fixing that now.

I didn't expect the games to be this entertaining. I love the enthusiasm of TB. The quality of the games is also a huge plus, of course.

Awesome way to end the tourney. Doesn't feel like Bling brought it completely, but SeleCT, damn, what a hero.

Directional PA and HEAVY soundproofed ear protectors + in-ears. This was tested before hand, they can hear nothing at all.

Great work today TB, get some rest mate you earned it

Bling has some fantastic potential, his first big lan and he almost won. Only turned pro a few months ago.

Bling is amazing, he really did well in the brackets but I felt his lack of stage experience vs SeleCT let him down. That said he did legitimately win game 1 very well. I look forward to seeing more of him

There will be VoDs going up over the next few days and my voice is fucking doomed. Solocast for about 6 hours before I did the finals, which ruined me completely.

Not to bring down bling at all, as he did play very impressive actually - he's improved alot.
He has been to quite a few lans now within the UK, Including i41 and that gadget show lan a week or so ago.

God the sad thing is i watched the gadget show one too, memory failing me Think the tournament organiser said "great performance considering this is your first stage match" at the prize presentation. Threw me off.

Worth it to get a reply from my favourate British player though ^_^ Hope to see you at some more tournaments soon Ben, your always fun to watch.

Good to know, I had no idea they did it this way - Still doesn't make me like the fact that they're still so close to each other I remember going to an iEvent in 2003 and watching the RTS final on big screen and the players were no where near at all

Well the Gadget Show was a different environment. There was no stage, all the casting was done remotely from a seperate area and the matches displayed on a couple of screens as well as the stream.

I think the stage might have gotten to him, as it tends to do to a lot of people. Plus we had an audience which seemed to be as large as the Dreamhack Invitational (which was what, 500 capacity)? Either that or there were less of them but they were way louder. Nothing better than a crowd of drunken englishmen for eSports spectating.

Thanks to Bakor and Leonstarcraft for being massive helps with the tournament - it wouldnt have been quite as epic without them. Hopefully next event the coverage will be more complete because we will have better luck with the stupid streaming software!

Totalbiscuit again was incredible - brings a lot of life to the matches and adds the "show" part to the live matches. He is welcome any time in my view.

All the players were excellent - all well mannered and when they voiced opinions or problems it was never ever in a rude way - I have taken a lot of the feedback due to the bracket layout into consideration and will try to have things changed in our tournament system for the next event.

i43 will be MASSIVE if last year was anything to go by (last years summer LAN i40 had 126 players sign up) so I look forward to an even better tournament then.

I hope we can get more big players to fly over with a bigger prize pool also based off the success of this one!

Well played SeLeCT and BlinG!

Great tournament and a good weekend in general.

Unfortunately couldn't cast much due to technical difficulties, but was no ones fault. Got some great experience and can't wait for the next event to come around.
Big thank you to the admins who dropped everything asap to help whenever we had a problem!

Thank you to team dignitas for putting up with my harassment for interviews etc, SeleCT BlinG and PureBall were awesome banter, as well as all of the infused.tt booth!

Overall fantastic for the UK Scene, cant wait to get going again! :D

Can someone please tell me the results of this?

How was the prize money distributed? 1st - Select, 2nd - Bling, 3rd - Lau, right?

I want to put this in the tournament roundup, but results aren't reported anywhere. -_-

Tyles.772 Bobstar.223 I'm just disappointed they overhyped an announcement which would obviously cause a lot of backlash in the TL community. Sure they acquired huk, but they didn't have to rub it in our faces.
